Not as bad as getting twisted up in the backwoods of TN, and finding out that your navigator is dislexic like happened at my first Chevelleabration!

My sons and I arent missing that SuperCruise again Tom. Just follow Old Red's tire marks in 2007! Always a pleasure to have you up ; glad you're safely home.

Been home for a few hours now and the whole weekend is relly beginning to sink in. A huge THANK YOU to EVERYONE who came and supported our efforts. Yes, the weather was absolutely perfect and the cars were the best ever, but it's always the people who make this thing work! I have never heard so many positive comments about the show since we started. Like the rest, I can't wait for next year and see just how much bigger and better it can and will get. Thanks again, everybody!

Congrats to all the winners, too. That Rat Pack bunch is getting a reputation and it's well-deserved. Voting was pretty rough in many classes and i think it came down to closing your eyes and picking something. What a nice problem to have. Sure will be interesting to see what happens over the winter.......

Hi Everyone ,
I just got home, as I had to drive my car to my wife's high school reunion this weekend after the awards ceremony. First of all I would like to say what an awesome show!!!!!!!!! I would like to thank the Can-Am Chevelle Club for putting on a quality event. Congrats, congrats, for an awesome show. I am looking forward to next year!!! :)
Next I would like to thank the members of the Northern Ohio Chevelle Club for choosing my car as their favorite, I am greatly honored and very thankful. It was a very large surprise and I am very, very thankful and very happy to know that all the hard work and money spent did not go unnoticed. Thank-you, thank-you. I wish I would have met some of you guys!!!.
It was just an awesome weekend and it was nice to be able to put faces with all the names and cars that I have met on the Team Chevelle website. You know that alot of times you go to some of these big shows and some of the people that have the top cars in the country don't want to give you the time of day. I just want to state that this was not the case as I met some very friendly and approachable people that were willing to answer any question or just do a little BSing...it didn't matter. Everyone that I met were all extremely friendly and very easy to approach at the show. Also let me say that there were some VERY NICE cars at the show. I would like to say that I am very happy to be a part of the Team Chevelle family.
Bill Burke.... I know that we are originally from the same neck of the woods and that I would have liked to have met you and shot the sh.. and had a beer with you, but I was never able to catch up with you.....Very nice car by the way!!!! Maybe next year!!!
I also just want to say that I had a blast and met some very excellent people...especially some of the folks from north of the border... Heh!!....:beers: Thanks again and am looking forward to next year and travelling to some of the other Chevelle events.....Mike W

Think Maryland! I definitely want to wind Old Red through those PA hills. Their 20th Anniversary. I'll break down and buy some shirts for once!

Cleveland Gang is planning a MUCH bigger show next year.

Guys, the President's Choice was tough. A number of fresh, beautiful cars out there. VERY high quality show field. A rare 69 post car out of Misurrah, done to absolute perfection. If you havent heard BobSpade's 69 300 396 or AlbertGaldi's 427 Copo chambered exhaust, you dont know what you're missing! Akin to my original LOUD 2 chamber system, but much nicer tone. Less drone and more crackle. A beautiful note.

As it turned out, a fresh 70 SS454 LS6 car, the real deal, papers and all, DRIVEN, and sounding like you think it should. Utter perfection. Georgeous.

:beers:
Ahhhhh, I'm drinkin' Shauny's ICE ( BLT4FN), and gonna ice my ol broke knee down. What a great weekend folks! I had a blast and I 'm so PLEASED Y'ALL had such a great time!

Speaking of Shaun, we shut the registration room during voting to go on the cruise. The cruise is simply a delight! We have over, what 65-70 cars in line, my sons are strapped in BLT4FN and that is exactly what it did! Shaun REDUCED his near "terminal" rubber and Jake and Donny had grins ear-to-ear, as did I!

Hey Gene the cruise on Sat. was a blast. I waited until the last minute to join in and am I ever glad I didn't miss that.....That chambered exhaust on that COPO sounded just incredible didn't it? AWESOME!!!
Oh and by the way ...who let that Mopar in there???? I thought I would be the only one with a cross-ram:)

Can Am Guys and Gals

I want to thank you for a great time this weekend. Your show is really well planned and the location is awesome. This was my 3rd year to the show and hope to come back next year.

This is the first year us Ohio guys made the trip with no incidents. I would like to set the record straight on the fly by from the guy with the red station wagon. He said he was doing 80 – well my speedo was reading 75 and he got by us quick. We have about 3 seconds of the fly by on Video. I would also like to thank Chuck for taking photo of my Chevelle down by the marina. This was an unexpected honor; I hope they come out ok.

The Saturday cruz was awesome. I never realized how powerful the 454 was until we did that fishtailing burnout with five people in the convertible. We really gave that lady standing outside of the bar a show.

I hope you Long Island guys who were a couple of cars back in the blue convertible caught that one on tape. Speaking of you Long Island guys, thanks for the burnout we requested at Midnight in the parking lot. Your standing ovation was well deserved!!!

The run home went well – stopped at Quaker Steak and Lube in Erie with new Chevelle friends. The 454 has a little tick in the engine, sounds like a loose rocker arm – I will pull the valve cover off tomorrow.

This was our first year down. What a show -- Great cars, great weather, great people. I picked up a ton of useful information just talking to participants and vendors. Friday night was the best. Gotta get to that cruise to Paddock Chev next year, though. Thanks to everybody involved for a great weekend

Hey Gene not sure who had the most fun. Your boys.... you... or me for being able to provide a ride to put a smile back on a face that has worked so hard over the year to make this show what it is and never being able to really enjoy it.

Thanks :D :D

Oh and by the way that was one bunch of figure print I did not mind cleaning up ;)

Great show! Thanks for all the hard work you organizers put into it, with special thanks to Gene & Don. Things appeared to go smoothly. It was amusing to see just how much rubber was laid down in the parking lot and on Whitehaven Road.
This was my 2nd attendance. This year I brought the wife & daughter along. I figured that they might be bored but all was good. They didn't see much of me since I was looking at all the cool machinery and taking pictures. It took 1.5 hours to cross the border going there but only about 15 minutes return. We stopped in the Niagara wine region and took in some sights at Niagara-on-the-Lake coming home. I really do need to bring the Chevelle next time, but I don't have a/c in it (doesn't bother me), but with the princesses...
As before it was really great to meet people, look at their rides and talk their ears off (do I really do that?). Lots of folks came from really far away to attend. I appreciate it and I hope you all had fun as well. I saw more 3rd gen Chevelles and more Beaumonts than I remember from before. It was really something to see that '65 factory L-79 Beaumont. There were even some 3-speed manual oddball Chevelles that were a nice change to see. There were some really exquisite restored cars, some really bad-ass rods and even some interesting cars for sale. Only one Chevelle had a six under the hood but lots more with at least twice the displacement.
Thanks again for your efforts in running a great show!

Mike, I was asked that question more seriously early on Saturday. Carm Russo is one of our sponsors, Tread City Tire, one helluva nice guy, and is always welcome to bring ONE piece of MOPAR history with him.

I was vindicated at 3:00 when Arlen Goode from down in Ohio had the fuel pump in his tow vehicle die. The first person I saw was Carm, and within minutes he had a flatbed en route to the show field. Then Bill Wertheim, the GM at our main sponsor, Paddock Chevrolet, had two mechanics stay past their 4:00 quit time to get Mr. Goode squared away. And they did. Mr. Goode and his wife were back at the show field in time for the WING FEST!

And Carm is always welcome on our show field.

And that's what we get from our sponsors. Priceless.

Gene,
That was an awesome gesture by those guys to help someone out in a pinch!!
That Mopar was an awesome car...426 Wedge with a crossram, pushbutton trans and I noticed the NHRA 1 on the license plate. Is this by chance an old record holder? It didn't matter what kind of muscle it was, it was a pleasure to see! Thanks again Gene and crew. :beers:

what a great show you guys put on.after the 900 mile trip back to "missura"it was still worth it.have to say that i met alot of good people at this show. i would like to say thanks for the award even though i wasn't there to recieve it.next time no more trailer queens,i'm bringing something to drive.dan won't let me drive it because it would look like a 5 year old restro when i put it up.dan and don did a great job on that car.thanks for a great time ,see everybody soon.. greg also is there any kind of pizza eating record on the island,i think my son might had set a new one.and that added another hour on to our trip home

A big thanks to Greg. Not only did he take charge and go out with Kenny to get enough pizza to feed an entire parking lot full of hungry Chevelle guys, he insisted on paying for all of it. Here is a shot of the makeshift table, car show style..

BTW.. This is one of the few spots left in the parking lot, that didn't have burnt rubber all over it.

Greg - thanks to you, Dan and Holden for coming out and bringing that beautiful Yellow 69 Post Car with you. As you know, I kind of have a soft spot for them ;)

Chuck - no, I'm not in jail. However, if I keep staying up until all hours of the morning drinking with you, it could very well happen. I'll just have them call you to spring my bail :p

Our event photographer now has all his pictures uploaded. Go to our Club Website below, click on "2006 Northern Chevelle Gathering" which will take you to the page with award winners and pictures link.

I must say that I've developed a new respect for Beaumonts and Acadians!
Neat cars and some very friendly people that drive 'em. The "Econo-Jet" logo
on the BB air cleaners threw me for a loop! What's up with that anyways??
Many thanks to Gene,Ron,Duke and Rod.Made Pam and myself feel right at home!Great weather, great cars, great show!Makin' plans for next year already!
Again...."THANK YOU" to all involved for the great time!

The 70 LS6 car that was one of the top cars out there, along with Greg's 69 post. Dave's 70 SS car is top of page 16 , 2nd photo...going to the cruise..

Greg's car is on page 11, bottom row 2nd in #262. Super perfect. I was torn between those two cars. What a bad dilemna to have!

Ah BILL, our long hauler is safely home.Good !

As you thumb through those pictures, check out the obscene quality of the cars on that show field. Man. We get some good cars in.

Greg and Bill, thank you for hauling those cars in, over some distance, for all to enjoy. And while I PERSONALLY prefer drivers Greg, NO ONE faults you for trailering that distance. Especially rare/historic pieces like that.

Dan from SSBC , a local sponsor, will have his 72 out there next year. Now that's a long hauler, all modern running gear.

I had a blast at the show, getting to meet some new people and re-aquainting myself with some others.

The super cruise was something else, what a spectacle!

Don, Bill, Greg, George, Ken & Albert, it was great to get to spend some quality time shooting the breeze with you guys. Had some good laughs and learned a few things, too.

Greg, you'll have to apologize to Dan for me, I bugged the hell out of him with resto questions about your car. That man has patience, as I was one major league pest. :D

I sure learned to like my new digital camera, even though Don told me my pics are too big!:p
