Heaven forbid if GM came up with a modern offering badged in y'alls precious Chevelle moniker.
But what's the point? The only reason to use the name is to evoke some type of brand association with Chevy's history. The car looks nothing like any Chevelle previously manufactured, so why not sell the car on it own merits, with a new name, instead of manipulating people into believing it represents something it isn't.

Food for thought; If it wasn't called a Chevelle, would you still be interested?

As in Camaro?????

I'm not a huge fan of the new ones, but at least they resemble their 1st Gen cousins for the most part.

Frankly, I think the article is bogus anyway. There's too many models & body styles in those pics. GM doesn't spend money like that in this current economic climate. They would've announced this at least a year ago if they planned on releasing it for sale in late 2016.

Surely every picture in the gallery being of a totally different and obviously fake car sort of gives away that this is not real. Chinese news site rehashing old pics from old forum threads. Other places reporting it as well just means that other places are copy/ pasting without doing due diligence in the hopes of creating site traffic.
Would be cool to so see a modern take on it, but nothing in that article looks very interesting at all.

We already have the Malibu... ;)

A few people have been fooled with this one. There was an El Camino done a few months back also.
GM does sell an El Camino in Australia.. the Holden Maloo.. based on the same chassis as the Camaro and SS..

Chevy ss like the nascar boys.... Much better to use that format for the new chevelle ss... I think they would sell quite well if they could pull it off like the dodge challenger managed to do so... Again... My 0.02 on the subject....

Hmm.. Not bad
That's a Challeger with a poorly photoshopped '70 grille and rear bumper. And not to forget, the S-10 wheels. It's not going to happen.

please tell you guys arent holding out hope based on some articles posted in on a few no named, no reputation websites?
Thats because these websites are only in place now to inflict viruses and steal information, especially from Facebook users as there are tons of fake user accounts setup just to post these type of websites just to get the "clicks".

The other half just set up these websites to be nothing more then clickbait. Just there to get your mouse clicks to generate revinue from all the ads.

No Chevelle in '17. More right wing disinformation. But a Ford Bronco, with a small 3.5L Powerstroke. :) Now, we're talking!

It's a Camaro with a different nose.

Why would Chevrolet cannibalize Camaro sales? If they were to hang the Chevelle name on the Caprice/SS platform someone could conceivably make a convincing arguement. I don't think the market will support more than one rear wheel drive V8 two door name plate per manufacturer.
