Hi
Building a mild 396. Cam is Lunati 60202, springs are 502 HO.
I have my heart set on using old school MT covers I have. They are low profile. What rocker arms have you used under these with this mild .542 lift cam???
Thanks
Brian

You may double check the clearance of the drippers under the valve covers. Ive got a pair and all the drippers were cut short. Jim

Hi Brian, we do these all the time, full-roller builds with 100% stock G.M. valve covers. We are required to use ONLY a single-thick V/C gaskets as well. I doubt your covers are any shorter than the factory pieces, chromed or painted?

Comp's Pro-Magnum's are all we use on these type builds. Along with 8 Crower "short" poly-locks for the exhaust's only.

Thanks, Gary

P.S. Here's a shot of a 100% restored '72 Chevelle, that unit is a full-roller build, hyd-roller lifters and Comp's rockers. All under the OEM covers.

They fit no problem, just shave the drippers and if you are using a Harland Sharp or Crane style of rocker, you will have to shave the side of the rocker on number 1&8 exhaust or they will hit the cover.

If it needs to be higher just use a Mr Gasket .300 gasket :)

yes, it the rockers have square corners on the pushrod end they might hit the covers around the upper bolts. round shouldered rockers won't do this, but in either case you might need the shorty poly-locks Gary mentioned.
