Sure how about some photos of it :D

I saw it right after it was posted, was going to delete it but knew the flaming he was going to get would be entertaining. Lets not any of us take it personal.

Thunderstruck507 I can't stop staring at your photos, I absolutely love it! The slots, stance, in action. Nice!

I love the slotted mags. But no one makes them properly...they desperately need to be made in 15x10" but with proper backspacing to clear a non lifted car.

Sadly the stock disc brakes on the Chevelle were inadequate even with Hawks pads and a swap the ls1 fbody rear discs. The move to ls1 fbody front brakes needed a larger wheel. Personally I think the car looks amazing this way too (I've since fixed the sagging grill):

The other upside is that the car is an average of 3-4 seconds faster around an autox course, will run away from things it shouldn't on a backroad blast, and will accelerate nearly as well as on a drag radial instead of just boiling the crappy 15" tires.

big wheels seem to shorten the cars visually making them cartoonish. larger wheels are like long levers compared to smaller wheels requiring more braking power and more power to launch. they are against the law. the law of physics.

if the diameter of the tire is the same, the wheel size doesn't make a difference.

Those are Buick Rally wheels from a GS.......with Chevy beauty rings on them.

Here's what the Buick rallye looks like without the chevy beauty ring on it:

And here is a Chevy beauty ring:

Actually, I think those are Chevelle SS rims on that blue '67 El Camino... '69/'70 Chevelle SS (and maybe Nova?).

Hard to see from that angle, but note how the centercaps are taller and narrower than the Buick caps, and the wheels don't look chromed like the Buick wheels (but it is hard to tell)... Also on the Buick, the 5 chrome "strips" are narrower than Chevelle wheels (Chevelles aren't chromed in original form)... Can't tell, but Buick also has larger cooling slots than the Chevelle wheels... But I think the basic wheel is the very similar (Magnum 500s), but the Buicks were chromed...

Here's a thread showing some better pictures...

I think you are right. I looked at the picture again and zoomed in on the center cap, it appears to have white 'SS' letters in the middle, on black background.

I may be in a boat all by my self but not a bad place to be I just hate to see old cars like Chevelles and Corvettes and so on with 17 inch wheels and bigger They look like crap I would like to see all older cars crush then to see them with bigger wheels and tires They are a eye sore for sure The real men who drove these old car drove them well with no fear and knew nothing about the modern tire and wheel and now with lesser girl like men who think they need the bigger wheel stuff to be able to drive these older cars I have two 1970 Chevelle SS 396 cars and a 1969 Dodge Charger and all of my cars will have 15x8.5 wheels and look like a true muscle car :hurray::beers:

Would love to but no rules were violated.

Sometimes a public execution does wonders for the morale. In his 10 posts he has shown that he has little to add and is only here to drain the knowledge pool and stir the pot. No one will miss him, but I understand that rules are rules.
