Mike, I got 404 not found?? Glastek makes a short, and a long cowl, from what I see in the catalog pics.

Hey Pete, thanks for showing the Glasstek hood. I will be needing the longer forward portion for my application.
Glad I could help. Same reason I bought this Glasstek about 12 years ago, IMO it has the best blended look.
I did weigh it to compare to my wifes Cowl Induction steel hood, 80lbs vs 40lbs.
They put bracing in the bottom and the cowl is stiff enough it doesn't flap around at speed like I see on alot of cars.

I had to borrow this off my car for now to make the induction fit on her car, and was able to test fit a few things.
Edelbrock Victor 2909 with 1.5" of spacer, 4500 and 14"x3" with flat base.

This is the same intake but with a Universal Spinners 16" x 4" with 2" drop base. I had to trim about 1" out per side/2" on diameter on the hood bracing to get this to fit.

My stock OEM cowl hood feel much heaver than 80, but I'm old. I have to talk to Robert about a different under hood structure for mine.

After talking to both Goodmark and AMD (auto metal direct) they both say that they have VERY few people ever asking for a 4 inch hood for 70-72 chevelles. I find this hard to believe since this seems to be a question you can find all over the internet. Seems more people need to be calling these guys asking for the hood to be made. AMD said they would have to make and sell roughly 500 of them to be able to justify them tooling and making the hood. Looks like I will be buying a 6 inch scoop and welding it to my stock hood. I too dont like the straight down sides so I will take a 6 inch hood scoop and spread the sides out at the bottom to drop it down to a 4 inch hood and sides be at roughly 30-45 degree angle. Help keep it from looking like a notched out lump on a log. SDtay tuned folks for updates and pics.

:eek:l:) His quality is awesome though. My GM cowl hood weighs a TON. I need something a little taller.
