I got mine from Jeff at Classic Chevy. Good guy to deal with and excellent customer support after the sale. That was very important to me.
You can see his kit here>>> Classic Chevy 5 Speeds

A long standing member of this board, Wally, now sells them also. I have had good experience with him in the past with Muncie parts/rebuild. You can see his site here>>>> Wally's site

In my opinion you can't go wrong with either of these guys.

That is exactly what I said to myself. Scary thought at first, but now that it is done. I can't believe how I dorve around with 4.10's for 20 years like that. I absolutely love the 5th gear.
The car is so much more enjoyable/driveable now.

Wish you could talk to Gary Chmielewski from Bryan Ohio.
Was talking with him last night and he is very happy with his after being through a Richmond 5 speed AND a Richmond 6 speed.
Says he gets 16.5 miles per gal with his.

Man, how bad was his fuel consumption before?? With the price of BS fuel headed to $3 plus I would be looking for better numbers, say mid 20s.

My 6000 pound Duramax gets 20 plus with no mods, and that is an average for all 58K, it can get near 24 if you drive smart.

I think the OD units are now more viable than ever, when gas gets to where it is in Europe, then fuel injection and OD will be the norm.

i really could care less about fuel for this car being $3/gal Im a courier by day and fill up EVERY DAY! so filling up a 12gal fuel cell every week or 2 i won't even notice, i just have a 3.31 rear and like to go to shows that are a ways away, so the tremec should have a much better launch than my munci and cruise on the highway under 2k rpms... i don't like turning 2800rpm on the highway for 45 striaght minutes :) plus this motor will be "de-tuned" to a hydro roller, less compression etc. little more bottom end grunt for the O/D
