Exactly what I was thinking.
How could someone that talented and creatively funny be so depressed as to end one's own life.
They say Williams and Jonathan Winters became close friends because Winters also suffered from deep depression.

So, I tell my wife that Robin Williams had died. And she asked where I heard the news, so I said "On the Chevelle forum, of all places". And she says: "They're always on top of their s***, must be true". Sad news, though. Good Morning Vietnam was always one of my favorites.
Most comedians are deeply troubled. The funnier they are, the more depressed they tend to be.Exactly what I was thinking.
How could someone that talented and creatively funny be so depressed as to end one's own life.

How very sad. He was truly one-of-a-kind. On Good Morning, Vietnam they basically called "roll 'em" and Robin was instantly on, ad libbing and winging it off the script. He probably was that way on Mork & Mindy as well.

Im deeply sadden about this bad news. A guy who gave us much gladness gave us much sadness. He will be missed
RV was a ridiculously dumb movie yet has a ranking towards the top on my list. Robin Williams had a way of portraying his character as somebody most men can relate well with.
Very sad he wasn't able to get the help he so desperately needed. So caught up in making us laugh, when he was so depressed himself.
