Stopped by the paint shop today to help layout the stripes on the fenders. I took the chance to snap a couple more pics of the body. Should be done with paint tomorrow or the next day. Cure time will be 3 weeks then cut & buff.

Thanks for all the comments! Paint is such a huge step, I might actually drive this thing again.

Looks great!

Thanks! I stopped by the painter on Friday and he said he'll be cutting and buffing starting the week after next. Should have the body back by the end of the month.

Not a great picture, but the main body is cut and buffed now. I go on vacation for 10 days this Friday, but I should be able to get the body back on the frame right when I get back!

That's for sure, I read your build thread more than once along the way.
Well the car looks great! I actually bought some flat black vinyl stripes for the front fenders of mine just to see how it looks and haven't got them on yet. Now I have a better idea lol.

I just swapped mine over to a stroked 418ci LS3 and 4l60 auto.

No pics to post today, but I dropped the frame off at the paint shop yesterday. I should have the body on the frame and back in my shop by the end of the week. Then the real fun of assembly begins!

I finally brought the Chevelle back home! I have the body, doors, and trunk lid mounted to the frame. Now I can start the final assembly work. I'll probably put the fenders and hood on close to the end of the project.

Painter whipped up a couple of brackets to hold the core support in place in lieu of the fenders:

All tucked away in it's new home:

Looks excellent. Did I notice some fairly precise rear fender well work and some very large diameter wheels?
