I need help deciding on my next project....I currently have a 68 chevelle.

I am kind of leaning toward a 60's buick riviera, chevy impala, or biscayne...I am basically leaning toward all chevys and buicks!!

My main concern is $$$$ to restoreand availabilty or PARTS!!!!!!!........Are any of these cars hard to find parts for?

Thanks for helping me decide:}

Chevrolet would probably be the most reproduced parts. My next car is definately a 62-64 Impala. That would be my suggestion. Do some searches online for pics and decide what you want best,

Good Luck,
Chris

My advice: Buy a nice buick riviera. They're way cheap in near-perfect condition. All the hard work is done, you just have to "personalize" it with some cool bolt-ons. :)

About a year ago, my uncle tried to sell his beautiful light-blue '63 riv. He sat on it for 6 months before someone offered $6000... the best offer he had recieved.

If it were a chevy impala or something, it would have been a $20,000 car.

I picked up a '64 Riviera, totally straight with only a hint of rust by one rear wheel molding for $1500.00 at an auction a couple years ago. It ran great, 425 single 4 barrel, had every option except A/C, power windows, brakes, steering etc.. Most everything was there, some in the trunk (power antenna, trunk release, remote mirrors) along with about 30 various traffic citations, no wonder it had been confiscated for auction. It had issues though, drivers side exhaust had flex pipe, dash butchered for radio, several others. Apparently the previous owner had good intentions, there was a catalog in the truck similar to a Danchuk, exclusively '60's Riv. Parts were relatively expensive and coverage no where near comparible to what we enjoy for Chevelles. Another thing, you'll have to find a manual online, the Riv is an animal in itself, certainly not available at a local parts or book store, pricey too. I sold mine cheap, making a couple bucks. Originally I offered it for $3500 and had alot of calls and lookers, too many actually, I was tired of people coming over and eyeing my other stuff. Since, I have seen the same car for sale for over $3500, don't know it's fate, but the cars have some unique features, the "X" frame and 4400 pounds limit performance. Just thought I'd throw out my Riv experience.
I'm curious, if the early '60's Impala gets the nod, what power plant, 409?
Good luck
