It looks as if I must customize the pedal bracket to swap in the clutch pedal assembly. Would anyone be able to give me the correct measurement from the front of the bracket (were it mounts to the firewall) to the center of the pin that goes through the pedal arm?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you swapping in an original-style clutch pedal? You shouldn't have to modify anything if you start with the right bracket.

Ryan,

You are correct, if I had the right bracket I would not have to modify it. What I am attempting to determin is which of the brackets that I have is the correct one.

Thanks

Ah, I see. I hope my reply didn't seem crass.

Anyway, if no one gets back to you I can try to measure mine this weekend. I've cut mine up to mount Wilwood pedals in it, but the dimension you're looking for still exists.

Ryan,

It did not seem crass. It did seem like the type of answer I get from some people that think that you can only use replacement parts the way they come. Some people would never modify a bracket or use parts from a different year car and make it work.

I was surprised when I went to your web site!! Not only is that one nice ride, It looks like you fabricated tons of parts. The brake and clutch system is state of the art and not something you see everyday. I can tell hours were spent making the floor and crossmember modifications so the trans would work.

I can easily make a bracket and pedals work with the stock linkage if I had two measurements. First I need the distance from the front of the bracket (where it hits the firewall and bolts to the power booster) to the center of the pin that goes through the pedal arms. The second is the distance from the center of the pin to the hole that the pedal rod to z-bar connects to. I am assuming that the pedal push rod connects to the pedal arm and not the stop bracket that comes off the arm.

Thanks for your help and post some updated pics of your car.

Tom,

I'm sorry, but I completely forgot about these measurements over the weekend. I will be near my car tonight, though, so I'm going to do my best to take a picture or two for you and measure it up. Let me know if you need anything else while I'm there!

Tom,

I just measured my braket. Now please remember it isn't an easy part to measure when it is installed. So I would say that this is +/- .125". And it looks like the pin is 6" from the inside of the firewall.

Ryan,

No, that isn't an excuss.

I am on break from work from now until after the New Year. So hopefully I will be able to update my webpage.

Have a good holiday's guys.

Tom - I finally got it!

Sorry it took so long. I measured 5 7/8" to the center of the hole from the front of the bracket. I guess we'll let RJ go since he stated a eigth inch error ;)

I also took some pictures in case you need more help identifying the bracket. Please keep in mind that mine is hacked up quite a bit (and still a work in progress) to mount Wilwood brake and clutch pedals. But I thought you might at least get a good idea of what the shape of the bracket is.

Good luck!

RJ - I'll try to get some new pictures up, but I'm just lazy (that's my new excuse)
