No coherent GM owner would give serious consideration to the financial debacle of Ford ownership. Case in point- 6.0 liter power-joke. Eco-Boost might sound attractive for fuel economy, the cost of ownership is determined by the maintenance and repair expenses as well.

The 06-07 Superduty 6.0 diesels are good trucks after you do the required engine work. ARP Stud the heads if adding ANY power and get rid of the oil cooler and get the Bulletproof Performance oil cooler. SCT custom tune and my truck runs great, pulls strong. Putting the 6.0 engine out without enough development testing with the newer EPA regs. on them was a big FORD mistake.

FRIENDS DONT LET FRIENDS DRIVE FORDS:noway:

Have a nice day:)

I have the last good diesel a 2003 Powerstroke 7.3

Oh because modern GM products are so superior, lol.

You mention the Ford 6.0 PS, what about GM's 6.5L diesel, what a joke that was.

What about GM's "quad 4"?

S10 Blazer ball joints and idler arms?

The 4.3L fuel pressure regulator?

the 4.3L "Spider Injector"?

the 4.3L coolant fitting?

The Caddy 4.1L engine?

The Northstar?

The Aurora V8?

Corvette "Crossfire Injection"?

The rebadged "Nova" that was a toyota corrolla?

The fact that GM cannot paint match a bumper on any car made in the last 10 years?

Late model Chevy pick-up truck rocker boxes that magically rot away.

I could go on for hours.

You wanna bash another car make that is fine, But GM ain't no bargain to own and they produce PLENTY of junk.

I've owned my '11 Silverado for 22 months with 0 problems. No rust and the bumper paint is a match.

Government Motors has gotten enough of my tax dollar money...NOT one more dime from me.
All three daily drivers in this house are dependable, trouble free FORDS.

Thank goodness we are still free to make our own choices. I am just an old cynical guy and have problems not calling a spade a spade when Ford posts a promo in the Performance section of a Chevelle Website.

I dunno, I'd take the powerstroke over any GM pos for towing 7000+ lbs. The F350 excelerates slightly slower and gets about the same mileage with or without.

Gawd, we dumped Suburbans 10 years ago because they were raging pieces of crap. The last of the burbans to go was on its 8th transmission and that one was never used for towing. The 94 with the diesel wasn't too bad and it went 250k but not without some major repair bills in the last 100,000 miles.

The F350, I think we've had maybe a ball joint replaced in 100,000 miles. It's very comfortable and I've never had trouble making 2-3 day 12 hour per day road trips, usually pulling some kind of heavy load.

I like Chevys, I've always been a classic Chevy guy, but for my DD or towing big loads? I'll take a Ford.

I guess all that other GM crap must not exist then because your huge front bumper is trouble free.

I have a 2011 SONATA with the 2.0L turbo, it's a way nicer car in every aspect compared to my wife's 2010 Malibu. But that doesn't really prove anything. All the automakers make crap, if a person doen't think that, then they are delusional, or just a hypocrit.

It took a bit to get used to that front bumper. Pretty hard to ding the 5.3 engine, it does quite well for what I bought it for. It's actually a very nice vehicle. The 2500 Duramax truck with Allison is exceptional. GM is making some damned nice stuff as of late not to say that Ford and Dodge are any different. Tha Camaro is outselling the Mustang and Challenger and those who own them seem to like them. I drove a Camaro and thought it was horrible inside but it had good power and handled quite well. I have a friend who has a srt8 Challenger 5.7 and it is a damn nice road car. At the dragstrip the Mustang 5.0 does very well against the competition but the performance world is catching up to the cars now regardless of manufacture, at least domestically. GM has some excellent product out there now and it's just getting better and better. The upcoming engine packages from GM will pretty much seal the deal for the rest of the field. As for those of you who like the fart boxes it's a free country, people even drive Prius's. cough cough.

Yep, me too! I've had one Chevy truck, followed by two Fords and I'll never go back to a GM truck again. :noway:

Yep, me too. I have two ''toys'', both GM's (Buick GN and Chevelle SS), but when it comes to everyday drivers and a tough reliable truck to tow my enclosed trailer, I'll take a Ford without any hesitation! :)

Claude. :)

I have a ford, chevy, and a dodge. All are good vehicles. Kinda queer to hear anyone out of high school recite the acronyms of insults. My 01 f150's engine finally gave out 2 years ago with 220 thousand miles. At that time neither the engine or transmission was ever opened up for anything. Only thing in 10 years I replaced were normal wear items like brakes, tires, ball joints etc. AC fine, body fine, paint fine. I stuck a junk yard engine in it for 500 bucks and she's still kicking. Can't speak to the high end towing trucks but the lower end like mine i'd buy another f150 again in a second.

A friend of mine bought a Ford truck with turbo diesel. It may have been an '07. He had so many Turbo issues with that thing that Ford bought it back but he had to get a lawter to achieve it. That said, he turned right around and bought the next Harley Davidson year model. That was a powerful truck.

They all have issues. I have had all Fords since 95, except for the Chevelle. You could not pay me to own a 3.8 liter Ford V6 again. However, I still have my 79 Capri 5.0. That said, I dropped $550 on my 97 F150 last week to get the fancy esof 4x4 stuff working again.

The improvement in dealer service in the last 15 years or so has been amazing. I have started using the Ford dealer for many routine things I would not have dreamed of years ago.

Our 02 Explorer has 235k+ mile. One trans overhaul before it failed. I did put $300 in power window crap in last month, but its all working again.

I do try to stay with vehicles that have been out awhile and not the newest thing on the block. I have the most experience in old Fords and plan to stay with them.

Was ready for a diesel in 08, glad I did not go that route. In the dealer Wed, they had a 250 in for engine work. You drive it to a lift, and lift the cab off the frame to access the engine. Tech said you can do it at home with some two by sixes!

I want an efi toy, but the other stuff on these vehicles takes me too long to research and learn.

I was a GM guy but they closed all of the local dealers. I have a buddy who owns a Ford Dealership, it is close by and gives excellent service.

My 2005 Excursion 6.0 has 111,000 on it and I have to look hard for stuff that needs to be fixed on it before the ESP runs out. The dealer is going to help me out and take care of some of the 6.0 pain points before the ESP expires.

Our new 2013 Fusion is an awesome car, my wife wont drive any of the other cars now, she loves the thing. I have not found a single flaw in the car, fit and finish is perfect inside and out.

I have GMs, Fords and a Dodge. I have to say the Fords are head and shoulders above the other cars.
