I started an Excel spreadsheet to document all kinds of engine/head/carb/intake/cam/exhaust/performance/etc specs from all the users here at Team Chevelle. Until all the details can be worked out, we CAN start accumulating the data - anyone interested just email me and I will forward a copy of the spreadsheet as it exists now. Fill it out and email it back (leave info off if you don't want anyone to know). I will continue to change it as more data is gathered/desired and/or until we get another method figured out.

Too bad your using Excel. I don't have it. If you could export to Lotus 123 V3.xx (*.wk3) or earlier, I can read it with my several years old Quattro Pro program. I don't have any plans for getting Excel. Billy Bob's rich enough already

I think I've given the spreadsheet to everyone that's asked now, including a Lotus 1-2-3 version. Note this is for everyone -Race, Street, Grocery-getter.

Greg (kazuaki) is working up a live web version that looks great but is not ready just yet. (Thanks Greg!!) In the meantime, I will continue to send the spreadsheet and get data from anyone interested.

Pat: No need to have Excel to use the spreadsheet. Assuming that you have a Broad band connection, go to Sun Microsystems web page http://www.sun.com/software/star/staroffice/get/get.html and download StarOffice. This is the functional equivalent to Microsoft office, and it has a Spreadsheet program that is almost a duplicate of Excel, built in. The best part is that it is free. Check it out. I have tested it, and been using it for over a year, and it is feature rich, and solid. Thanks.

Hey guys,

Check out this page and see what you think. I found a MUCH faster way to code the page, so I can add as many fields as you guys like. I will clean up the column headers and stuff, too. Email me if you can't figure out how it works. Just try clicking some arrows and stuff and you'll figure it out. BTW, feel free to enter some test data or real data.

Thanks!

greg, I get the following error trying the link:Not Found

The requested URL /testdb2/tcdb.css was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Also, I will be off this until Monday again, I will check in later.

worked fine for me.

I added my stuff, but because I filled it out like an NSA application I got a bunch of "/" added to my info.

stuff to add:
Ignition
Compression
track results
dyno results
# of chicks on hood at once.

Very nice! I like the idea. How about adding a section for e-mail, 1/4 times, etc.? If we get enough people on there, maybe we can get TC to host it. After a while, this thing might get AWFUL large, and I'm not sure what kind of server your using, but I know the free ones don't give you too much space. Just my .02, but kudos to kazuaki for a job well done!

I've entered data into both.

Some fields for the Carter carb would have to be different. The Holley based fields are meaningless to a Carter/Edelbrock.

The Carter has primary jets with stepped metering rods for cruise/power settings. The power step comes on in response to a drop in vacuum. It is tuneable with different colored springs.

The vacuum secondaries just have jets.

So, of course, the Carter AFB/Edelbrock Performer carbs would require data on primary jets, diameter of power and cruise steps on metering rods, and spring color for when the power comes on.

They're not as easily tuneable as a Holley, but there are more parameters to tune, I think.

Thanks for the feedback so far. In case you didn't notice, the link I posted and the link Pat posted are to the same database, but different front ends. The one I posted is probably going to be the winner because it is much easier to build and it has many more features. All that's left to figure out is what fields should be in it.

Here's what I want to do:
I'm going to start a new post in this forum called "Team Chevelle Performance Database" that asks for field recommendations. I will be asking that they are submitted by email to a special account I will setup. Please read that post and give your input.

Thanks!!!
