TH400 plus Gear Vendors would be a stronger combo. Both very tough. Plus the Gear Vendors gives you the option of "splitting gears", like having 6 speeds forward and two reverse.
X2....Add the Gear Vendors to the back of your 400TH, shorten the driveshaft, hook up the switch and never worry about it again....

If I can come up with the dough, I'm on it! When did they drop the Hone-O-Drive name? Or am I way off base?

I'd use either a GearVendors or a 4L80. The GV would probably be more fun due to the gear ratios you could play with. A 700R4 would probably work but it's limited on horsepower, ratios aren't great and it"s headed towards performance obsolescence.

Thanks guys for the info., I was looking to go with a 200 or 700 but also decided to go with the TH400 with a gear vendor since I have around 600 hp. Also this could be split into two projects as the trans could be put in first and then install the gear vendor later as funds come along.

Thanks again

that's the way most of them are done AFAIK. GV gets installed in an existing vehicle. Anybody that has actually this confirm/deny having to hammer the floorboards?

$3500 budget . . . why not get a 200-4r from CKPerformance, $100 conversion kit, leave your driveshaft alone and call it a day?

Fayetteville here, installed semi-impressed maybe i still gotta get used to it, its only been for about an hr test drive. I think i see a new problem now though.... I cant seem to get alot if the power to the ground, too much spinning. I know that the ground is wet but still... Damn it was almost downright unsafe
