New best.

11.19@119 :)

Disclaimer: it's CCCCOOOOOLLLLLLDDD!!! 37 degrees and dropping.. this poor mississippi boy dont like this cold weather! They opened the track for TnT because of a couple grudge matches.
Track is crap, but I'm still 60' 1.60x. Dang near every car out here is blowin tires off (well the NOS cars are anyway lol)
So far the highlight of my night is outrunning my buddies '69 Chevelle (496, bigger valves, solid roller, TH350, 26" slicks, 4000 converter).
His best 11.59@113.

Gonna try one more time then I'm gonna go crawl under a blanket somewhere!

That's a great time, especially considering the conditions. If you can shed 200 pounds, this same run would have your car in the tens!

It ain't no go-pro, but we taped my iPhone to the rear view mirror for a couple passes. If I can figure out how to get them on the interwebs I'll post them up here, header leak and all haha.
No more bests, if I had jetted up I could have gotten more out of it as cold as it was.
But...60' on a junk track 1.60,1.61,1.61,1.61- I'll take that any day:)

Awesome!! Nice run! I'm hoping to get close to those times next year when the track opens in the spring. What stall converter are you running? Race weight with driver?

Converter flashing around 4700-5000 depending on conditions. I want a replay tach to get a better handle on what it's doing under what weather/track conditions. Converter is an 8" PTC spec'd out for my car by them.

Race weight, including my fat hind end, is a fuzz over 3800 if I remember right.

I'm concentrating on losing 100# between the steering wheel and driver seat right now, as well as losing the front sway bar, s-10 manual box swap, and going to swap my calipers out on front for D52 Wilwood aluminums. Also going to swap iron water pump out for aluminum.

Anything else yall can think of to drop weight, chime in. I like my steel flat hood and steel bumpers (STREET CAR!! lol), and I'm not into drilling holes everywhere. But if you guys can think of anything else...I'm all ears!

Congrats Greg. Sounds like 10,xx next season.

Nice COOL runs! BTw, not for nothing but 113 mph from a 496 is pretty anemic. You did say solid roller, yes? You and I make more power with flat tappets and less cubes, BUT dont say anything to your bud, its a fine looking car. Both are!

as Gene said, 113 under-achieving for your pal's 496
that is not impressive for 454 as I'm not happy with 113.4+ with my street beast 454. Some changes and I'll be 115 in 2013

good for you, wish we could run in the NW on more of a year-round type schedule. Seasonal Wetness mid OCT-APR, track dates APR to early JUNE can get rained out. Best damn summers in the world mid June-late SEPT however. You Southern Boys gotta bring jackets though as 80-85 is about the norm for daily high temp

Cheap? Light? Hmmmm, 90s Al and plastic truck radiator. I removed my stock radiator a few years back, put in the new guy...9# lighter. Pics and all that in my Super Budget 454 threads
O'Reilly MHT #438091 rings a bell but I cannot find my thread on this so far

Santa didn't bring any race rites. But hopefully by march, he'll have me some!

My buddy's 69 ended up running a 11.41, not sure on mph but it did get better than 113. His car needs sortin' out a little. His runs were from 11.90s-11.41 that night, but he's workin on it.

Already got an aluminum radiator in it. I think the hood is going to get replaced with a lift-off glass hood, that should help (and I won't hit my head anymore fixin header leaks!).

Hey Greg congrats on the new best. You run at hub city?
Yep. Hub and Gulfport, mostly Hub. I plan on running all the King of the Coast races at Gulfport this year.

You going to the Hangover race this weekend? I'm thinking about running 7.0 index class
