Looks like a very nice car for the money. Not the original engine or body color but I like the fact that it's owned by a private party. I'd want to know more about the history of the car, the restoration, how much body work was done, etc.

Now concentrate on these words.........really like. That makes it worth pursuing and as you do concentrate on the car and not absolutely on the money. You will be far more satisfied paying a little more for your car.

...not a Malibu conversion...
Hate to tell the seller but all 1970 SS Chevelles ARE Malibu conversions.

Kind of a shame they went with resale red instead of keeping it Misty Turquoise. Does have some personalization, bench seat swapped for buckets and console, I would guess a dash change since the automatic was moved to the console off the column, ZL2 hood added, etc. Surprised they didn't go with factory gauges instead of the (inexpensive looking) under dash units.

I guess if one wanted a non original red SS this might fill the bill.

I'm going over to the west coast tomorrow to check this car out for Chris. We'll see if it looks as good in person.
So, how was it?

I bought the car, Mike looked at it for an hour and couldn't find much of anything that's really wrong or needs to be addressed. Everything #'s wise checks out legit. I negotiated a price with the seller and gave him a deposit. We are just waiting for the $$ to clear and the title and Bill OF Sale to come to me. Thanks Again Mike !

Looked like a great deal from the pictures and description. You did the

right thing having Mike look at it. The best thing is that you don't have to

do anything to it, besides drive it and enjoy it.

Congrats, from a fellow Italian

The car presented itself well in person, pretty solid all in all. As we all know every 40 year old car has a few kinks but it was a nice driver with a brand new, ice cold AC system. The car has great curb appeal, the paint was decent and the car was bought very well IMO, much below the initial starting price. I'm sure Chris will enjoy it.

The e-bay ad is still running
