Dang, hate to hear that. The inner fender is easy enough, it bolts in. The cab mounts are welded to the cab, though. Which ones are bad, front or rear?

Sure wish they would build pickups that sit much lower today.

That thing is probably not 2" than the 1/2 models.

(opinion---67-72 F-100 up to the F-350---best looking trucks ever built----even look good when they are all beat up)

pickups today sit too low- you should not need a floor jack to do an oil change on a 3/4 ton 4X4 pickup, but you do with the trucks they are building today. they do, however, make the box sides too damn high on the new trucks- i think they do it to compensate for the frame rails being 6" off the ground. it's all but impossible to reach over the the box side and touch the bottom of the bed on even a 1/2 ton truck if you are less than 6'3" or so tall.

Did the disk brakes come from a later truck? I am thinking that disk brakes were not available in 1970.I bought a new Ford truck in 1972 and do not remember any option for disk brakes, but that was a long time ago. Anyway, it looks like you got a sweet deal.

@JWagner, No the discs are stock, it's a camper special.
@lsrx101, The front cab mounts are bad, not the worst shape, but someone did spray some foam in the bad spots.. I'll get around to it one day, should help practice my welding skills then!

The truck wouldn't start this afternoon, the starter decided to go out, of course once i buy it right? Not that big of a deal, picked up a new solenoid for it too because i hear they go bad, will grab a starter tomorrow and get it in after school, shouldn't be too hard at all! Gotta love all the room

I came across a highboy truck in this body style during my daily Craigslist surfing. I know there are certain models of the 1970's Ford trucks that are called the highboy but what exactly does this refer to? Since the discussion is these body style trucks and all.

My older brother had a 79 when we were kids he drove around for years. Another thing is rare is finding a decent SWB.

I believe the highboy means it was factory lifted, 4 inches if I'm not mistaken.
