OMG what a waste of money!!!!!!!!!
Not really.
Looks like they are getting plenty of attention.
The car is just the transportation to deliver their target audience where they want them.
Marketing dollars doing their thing.

I had State Farm from 2004 to 2012. Very reasonable. Then switch to Hagerty, why? I found out that even though my policy was written from $xxxxxx, if it was involved in an accident, that State Farm would determine its value using whatever they felt like. Didn't like the prospect of having to deal with that process.

Todd, true good point, let me rephrase... what a waste of a good car
That particular car was a total loss car.
Was evidently pretty much completely burned out, so I would bet
that the restoration is not really top notch.

Passenger side is using pretty much all reproduction parts while the driver side
uses OEM parts.

If used as a training aid for adjusters----could be a plus for the clients.
(doubtful)

I'm sure my State Farm is for agreed value, what we both thought my car is worth, do I need to read the fine print over?
I think so. After reading the fine print I went to see my agent. My agent told me that they would not cut a check for the value if the car was totaled . Instead they would use various resources to determine its value and then pay me that value.

That is not agreed value.:noway:

According to the article, they started with a total loss car that had an interior fire. They restored the yellow half as a professional "restoration". They did the red side as a back yard resto mod using lots of bondo, slapping things together. The point of the car is to teach their appraisers how to come up with a realistic value on a car. Was it "professionally" restored or was it hacked together. As we all know, the yellow half would appraise out much higher in value than the red half. To me it is not a waste, it is a teaching aid to help you get a fair appraisal if you have a claim. If you had a pro restoration, you get a pro check, if it was cobbled together you get a smaller check. What is unfair about that?
