I havent been around here much lately, I've been cheating on my chevelle with another car LOL. I started putting a 55 ford fairlane together over the winter and took it out for it's first time in June. I just decided to upload a video and thought I would share it. There is a lot of "wasted motion" in this video so please watch at your own discretion:yes:.
My father and I purchased this car to build, but as some of you know we lost him to cancer in september '11. This was my first real "race car" build, and I tried to use as many period correct parts as possible. I cut the front of the frame off at the firewall and built my own from there out, I used a speedway axle kit and fab'ed many of the other parts. It never left my garage for anything and I'm proud of that. I tried to do all the work myself but had the help of friends on things I couldnt do myself. I ran out of time for paint before the 2012 Gasser Reunion but took it anyways, the car had a great reaction from the fans. Many people want me to leave it 'as-is'. I'm still on the fence about that, but I had a ton of fun runniong the car. This was my first pass using the T-brake. Still LOTS of tuning to be done. I'm gonna try to eliminate some of the "wasted motion" so I dont have to put wheelie bars on it.
As for drivetrain it has a alky injected SBC with TH-400 and 9 inch.
Best ET so far has been 10.61 peddeling to keep it off the bumper, with a very rich tune up. Let me know what you think, Thanks Dan
