First, great build and excellent progress pics/update information.

Second, didn't the Van Nuys cars all come with red primer underside? Perhaps the differing color cars got a different color underside? Our 4/1970 LS6 car is Autumn Gold, and everything I've seen suggests that the primer underside was red on cars out of that plant. There is a fair amount of conflicting information, so I'm not 100% sure on how consistent the factory was in this.

I'm not sure about the red primer on other Van Nuys cars but mine was painted black underside. It also came with red primer under the top inside and lower inside was gray primer.

Thanks to all those who encouraged me to get this car finished for CB12 and especially those who were able to physically assist me in the final weeks. A lot of TC members helped me in many ways and I hope I can reciprocate in some way.

Also thank you to those who gave my car the vote's which produced a Top Three award in 70 Stock class. I genuinely enjoyed seeing and visiting with everyone at the show and hope I didn't bore or tire you with all my jabber about the specifics of my car and it's counter parts, I'm just excited and want to share what I've learned and continue to discover about Chevelles, that's all.

Les your car is definitely deserving. Seeing it in pictures do not do it justice. The color Green is awesome. Hey if we were not all excited and wanting to learn, we would'nt have a Chevelle.

I appreciate you helping me out during your adventures with your car.
Next time you will have to let me buy you a Taco. :p

Donnie I agree that it is probably at factory height but it's too low for me in the rear, I like a car to sit up a little off the tires like it does in the front with the A/C springs.

Good thing is that I won't be throwing away the 5413 springs and can always switch out. ;)

Les,Do you have the build sheet information on the car? Were not the springs that were in the car the original ones? I thought that it already sat up in the rear a little when I saw it at the show. Thought that the top of the rear tire was at the top of the wheel well trim. Car looked good to me,any higher it would have that jacked up look and giving it a raked look with front lower than the rear.To my eye an inch or two lower in the rear would look better. But you have a good eye and sense of what you want,so go for it.Later Geno

Geno, I thought I might have been over reacting on it sitting lower than normal but Tom and a couple other folks agreed it was low but correct as far as factory look. I don't have a build sheet for the car just the PoP which won't help.

Les,

If you want to use my blue hardtop for an example, it has Moog CC501 rear springs. Here is a link with specs on Summit Racing...

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOG-CC501/

I had to dig through my file on that car but I found the receipt!
