Most folks didn't like them when they were new.

Hi Chick,
Well said. Let's also throw in a 67 Camaro Pace Car and a 68 Hurst Olds to the mix.
How is your car coming along?

Yeah, back in the day they could not give the Daytona's or Superbird's away! Go figure, now they are worth big$$$$$$. Getting back to the Challenger, each to their own!

No wonder everyone buys foreign these days.
Yep!
The American cars are a joke.
As much as I like the idea of owning a modern performance vehicle,
I don't think I could pull the trigger to purchase a Challenger, or Camaro.
Maybe a 2013 Shelby Mustang, but even then, There are a lot of German cars I would rather spend the money on.

I sort of dig the wing on the new Challengers! The co. that makes the wing also makes all the other stuff needed to make a new Challenger look a lot like a Superbird or Daytona -- a pointed nose with functional headlight doors, the fender top humps, Superbird or Daytona stripes and decals, plus an engine upgrade to knock the HP way up from the 425 that the car came with. http://www.hppcars.com/

I have a 2010 SRT8 with manual trans. I actually thought it would be cool to have it converted into a Daytona (TorRed with black stripes) until I looked at their website and found out the entire package (with all the good options added on) costs about $30K plus shipping to them and back!!!!! That is just insane.

As far as the new Challenger goes, it has its pluses and minuses like about any car, but it is a beast on the street (as long as you turn off all the BS computer controls and overrides). And from a proportion standpoint, it feels very much like sitting in and driving a ~1970 vehicle. The seat is up off the floor, the steering wheel is in the right place, and you can see the front end of the hood -- unlike the new Camaros where I feel like I am sitting on the floor pan with my legs straight in front of me, and cannot see out over the top of the dash even though I am 6'4" !!

Anyway, to each his own, I guess. :beers:

Dudes...this looks AWESOME! I want one on my 66 Super Sport! I'll bolt one of these wings on too...right before I lay on the House of Kolor Kandy Apple Green fade metallic iridescent polarized basecoat clearcoat.

With this and double deuce spinners all the way around, my SS will be SOOO HOT!

:)

I don't mind the new challengers at all... but that wing is hideous!!!! FAIL...

I think if these retro muscle cars were out in the 80's we'd see less of the real muscle cars out there! We didn't have a choice for performance in the 80s other than to build something...now you can buy it.
