One more time................If it does not have a matching number L78 motor or a build sheet it is not a L78 now and there is no proof it ever was. Does not matter what Howdy Doody says. 'Bout the only thing this yahoo can prove is it started life as a sport coupe.

At this point it is a was car.

Now it's a NOM 69 SS Chevelle if there's proof of it being an SS.

There's some value if his claims are true. You could install a period correct engine and increase the value. But it will never be a documented matching numbers L-78 unless you find the original engine. Needle in a haystack scenario.

Would like to see a copy of the broadcast sheet he mentions.

That Broadcast sheet calls out a JK code 396/325hp turbo 400 and a CN code rear, a 2.56 posi code. Just another ebay deception.

I'm not too familiar with the older broadcast sheets, but I'm pretty sure the only way to get a 396 in a Chevelle in 1969 was with the SS package, so I guess it proves it being the real deal. It does have the infamous "L" on the cowl tag too. I also find it odd that he "mistakenly" entered the wrong vin in the ad, but then edited it at the bottom to match the broadcast sheet.

I've never claimed to be anything close to an expert regarding broadcast sheets. Fact is, I've owned more than 20 69s and NONE of them had a broadcast sheet. Most of them were fremont cars with a couple kansas cars. These sheets are rare.
The codes are pretty clear on the sheet but the trans code 4 and F are interesting, maybe 4sp and floor shift??? That conflicts with the JK engine code but again, I'm not up on these either.

Just to clarify, by real deal I meant real SS... not real L-78! That's weird that the codes are conflicting, maybe it's a bogus sheet.

By entering the VIN of a previously listed car, he sidesteps the eBay listing fee. You can relist the same unsold car (VIN) within the same 1 year period for free.
He is violating eBay listing policy and I doubt it was an accident.

The odometer looks to be tampered with. 55 should line up almost perfect.
This one smells of misrepresentation.
A fool and his money will soon part.

With a "create motor" maybe it's a create car ?

Guys, the broadcast sheet is for the trim tag and looks legit. He added the adjustment on the VIN after I identified that the VIN was incorrect for the tag or document. The JK you see is correct for the 5500 RPM Tach dash cluster, my Baltimore Chevelle has the same tag on the back of mine. The 5500 RPM Tach would make it a 325 or 350 HP engine. Without more pics and info it is hard to say much more. Anyone buying it should check the CONVIN to be sure the trim tag and document haven't been added to a solid body. Just some observations. take care, Andy

Wouldn't that register as a strike against the car being an L-78?

Seeing that it doesn't have the original engine, does it even matter. The guy touts L-78, so he's expecting l-78 $'s.:noway: It's a was car....

The tach he shows in the photo is a 5500 rpm tach. An L-78 should have a 6000 rpm redline tach.

I wonder who had the idea of putting those ugly red stripes down the sides, not the factory.

I'm pretty sure that they came with either black, white, or red stripes in 69.
Yeah but I don't think the red stripes came on a silver car.
