What length axle should a 70 chevelle have? I am about to replace mine and I see some that say 30 1/16 and some that are 30 1/8. And I dont know if it matters but Im putting SSBC disc brakes on them too.

What other quick question, do chevelles have 7/16 lugs or 1/2" lugs?
Thanks for the help

I just purchased a pair of Moser axles for a 67 Nova. The flange was stock size, too big to fit in the rotor hat. The axles Freddie used in my rear accepted the rear disc rotors without modification.

When ordering a set of axles from Moser they (and I) ask what brakes you will be using so that the flange can be cut to fit the rotors. Many stock replacement axles will not fit into the rotor, or the hub size will be wrong, which requires additional machine work to make them fit.

factory stock wheel studs for GM A-body cars like Chevelles are 7/16" diameter like Freddie has said. But if you'll be ordering new axles anyway, you can upgrade to bigger diameter wheelstuds too, such as 1/2" and even 5/8". If you go bigger though, you'll need to use aftermarket wheels. Especially if you choose to upgrade to the 5/8" diameter studs. But you won't need to do that unless you're building a lot of horsepower under the hood, and you plan on taking the car drag racing with slicks. It's only then that you would stand a chance of snapping the 7/16" wheel studs.
