Same as every one else, I used to play a good bit because there was nothing else to do in a small town.

Had some great times, we still break them out on occasion. I just got tired of buying the cards and keeping track of the new rules for new card functions.

As far as tips, my biggest improvement was finding some cards that worked together as combos. Having 2-3 card combos often is an instant game ender.

My favorite deck was one which used black cards (both instant damage and creatures) which instantly killed opponents creatures. Then bring out creatures that get +1/+1 for every dead creature the opponent has. Also in said deck was a witch of some sort who killed anything she did damage too...if the other player couldn't block it you won the game instantly.

I nearly lost some friends with that deck.

My nephew tried to teach me when he was a kid back in the early 00s and I just couldnt keep track of the rules and all the cards character attributes. Ive never really been into this sort of RPG type thing.

Yeah the black deck did me in quite a few times.
