I have been successful a couple times finding what I need on eBay but it usually involves looking at "tons" of "fits chevelle" items. How do I modify my search or what am I not doing to actually find original Chevelle parts. I'm not interested in looking at LED bulbs, HD headlights, after market dash caps and other assorted items that may or may not "fit" but not what I seek? I get a little frustrated digging thru all the aftermarket crap that supposedly "fits" but is not what I am looking for. Any help or tips is appreciated.

Type in what you are looking for, then -fits. For example, 68 Chevelle -fits
Cuts out 90% of the items.

When I was at SEMA, I complained to E-Bay rep's about doing a search for 66 Chevelle and getting many thousands of items, most really not having anything to do with a 66 chevelle. The rep said it was a violation of E-Bay policy, but E-Bay does not have time to police the listings, E-Bay is getting worse instead of better.

He was either ill informed or lying, this is all ebay's own fault. Some genius decided to modify their search engine so it does this. Used to be you could search and just get what you specified - no more. I've complained a number of times to no avail. It's to the point I try not to deal with Ebay if possible, including finding things on Ebay, but going outside Ebay to make the transaction. Talk about killing the golden goose.

Jim I agree with you about E-Bay, the rep gave me a line of BS, I try not to buy from E-Bay anymore and if I do I search for a particular item.

Thanks for the replies, guess I am not the only one who does not like eBay's newer system of listing things. It was also much better years ago also before eBay bought out PayPal and cornered the payment market also. Corparate greed sneaks in every where I guess. I don't buy a lot from eBay much anymore but when I'm bored and nothing on TV is worth watching it passes the time looking for parts and such. Since I'm not re-building my Chevelle to a high point show car I normally don't much look for NOS parts. Have lot more fun looking for good original parts here, at a swap meet or sometimes even a yard/garage sale. The search is part of the "thrill of the hunt".
