The interior on my 66 convertible is red. So I feel really limited on exterior colors (red, white, or its current black) and I'm thinking of switching to a white interior. If I do that...
A) What color is the dash pad, black?
B) What metal parts of the interior (if any) match the exterior color? Dash, doors, steering column?
C) Does anyone have a 66 or 67 with a white interior they could share some photos of with me?
D) Thanks.

My opinon. If you go with white seats, then the doors 1/4s, headliner, and visors should also be white. But you don't want a white carpet, so that should match the exterior color or be black. Remember black goes with anything. The dash pad, dash, steering, door trim metal, kick panels etc. should match your exterior or be black. Although you could get away with a black dash pad. White needs a little contrast to make it look good. So if everything is white you won't want to be seen in public in it, unless you wear a couple of pounds of gold chain around your neck.

There was an Ivory option for interiors on 66 (buckets only however) but nothing in white for 67. Having said that, I do have pics of a red 67 convert with white interior; where it came from is anybody's guess. Only the seats and door panels are white. Headliner, dash pad, carpets, etc are black. I have 5 pics of the interior I'd be happy to email you if you'd like 'em. Let me know offline at 396guy@chevelles.com and I'll send 'em.

My 66 Convertible has a white interior...To answer your questions:

A) black dash pad
B) No interior parts match the exterior paint
C)Mine's stock looking, but a custom color combo, see below...

The factory white bucket interior has black carpet, black console (if so equipped), black dash, column, windshield posts, dash pad and black on the top of the doors too... The lower protion of the door panels and the kick panels are also black, as are the seat belts...

Basically the seats and the upper section of the door panels are the only white areas...

When I restored mine I was tired of black, so I did it slightly custom...

I special ordered my door panels in ALL white (regular PUI (?) panels, just special ordered, and no addtional cost).

I recovered the seats with stock white covers, but I put in blue carpet, had the seatbelts rewebbed in blue, painted the console and kick panels white, but painted the dash, steering column, windshield posts and top of doors (metal) with the same blue as the outside (close to Marina Blue) and replaced the dash pad with a blue one.

I recently rebuilt the convertible top frame, and painted it the same color blue too...

My interior looks totally stock except the color combo (and two autometer guages under the dash)...

I can try and post some pictures if interested...

White top and visors...

I will try tonight from home (should have many good interior shots on the computer)... I had trouble logging on last night, so hopefully tonight...

Maybe send me an email to remind me...
