from what i have seen the return spring goes from the carb to the ign coil bracket. i bought a reproduction accelerator bracket for a q-jet carb & it has the lower return spring bracket that is in the way of the spring. are the originals bracket this way or not? i have the correct spring also. thanks bill

I'm not really sure I understand what your saying about the spring being in the way of the bracket, here's a pic from the assembly manual.
I can take a pic of my 69 if you need a better idea. :)

bart, the bracket the supports the accelerator cable that mounts to the back of the carb has a little arm that hangs down like the 396-375 for a holley that has a short spring. if you can take a picture of yours that would be great. the picture of the assy is the same as what i have for the manual. thanks bill

Here's a pic of mine
Your picture shows an attachment on the carb arm for a car with a turbo 400 kick down switch, but there is no switch in the pictute.

To the original post, on some Corvettes I have seen, the throttle cable bracket incorperates the arm on the bottom for the return spring. Maybe they are reproducing a Corvette version.
