Rear end decode

Can you tell me if I have this rear end decoded correctly, it reads CRV 1223B1 would this be correct crv=3:31 posi, 1223= dec 23, b1= buffalo plant 1st shift ????? Thanks Don

Did you get the casting number and date also?

mike, the other numbers are, gm52, 3969278nf, L-12-9. any others I need?

Nope,those just verify your code finding.
3969287nf is 70-72 12 bolt housing
Casting date L-12-9 = December 12 ,1969
GM52 is a foundry marker

Mike, Thanks for the reply again, Iam doing some restoration work on the under side of my 70 ls5 and just trying to verify that it is all numbers correct as I belived it was. Don
