Stock 2CV 2 barrel Rochester on stock 350 manifold. This newbie never saw the inside of any V8 manifold. Reason I ask is right side(passenger's) spark plugs had much more ash built up than left side, and right side idle mixture was at 2.25 turns versus 1.75 for left.
Some of the bulges on the manifold seem like it might cross the flow from the left side of the carb to the right cylinders and vice versa.

I'm gonna say your problem lies elsewhere. I believe the runners that come from each side of the intake alternate the side of the engine/heads they feed... The Left would feed 2, 3, 5 & 8 whereas the Right would feed 1, 4, 6 & 7.
