Being a big Elky fan, I was happy to so many there too. I'm wondering why though. Could it have to do with being in the northeast, or.......?? We had a great time too. Talked to lots of TC'ers, but not all. I don't think this could become an ACES show, unless it's more than a one day show. It would have to be at least 2 days for Chuck to make that trip, I would think. I'd like to see it become a 2 day show anyway. Too many folks to see in one day.
Bill, It IS a two day show.....Friday & Saturday:thumbsup:

My family and I had a blast! Jim and the NE Chevelle Club did a great job once again. I had a blast with all my TC buddies. To anybody who's never been to this show, you should come on down next year. Having this right at the hotel is great - don't have to leave the car out of sight.

And no drinking and driving! :) And a private beach!

Ed,X2,pic's with Kim
Great minds think alike. But Eddie, ya gotta know, she was teasin' on us with a story of her buffing the hood of one car while you worked on another. I can't speak for DaveK, BillR ChrisC, Mike or anyone else that heard the story, but we all stood with jaws agape!

I mean, you know how much I dig pretty girls buffin' on Old Red.

To DIE FOR!

:) Anyway, too cool that the Elky bug re bit you again. 64 out. 67 in!

Pics when avail, please! And Tom's pics, PLEASE!

I was there all afternoon Fri Dan, and there were only a hand full of cars there. Yes technically it's a 2 day show, but not many cars are there. For this to become an ACES show, it would have to organized like the Md, Ohio, shows, and have the majority of the cars on the show field both days. They can't expect Chuck to drive 16 hrs to a 1 day show.

So the wife and I ended up driving down Saturday... early afternoon. It was the first all Chevelle/Elcamino show I've been to. I found it Inspirational to see all of the beautiful cars there. Needless to say we'll be there again next year. It's pushing it but maybe I'll have a car to show then....well maybe not :)

One car I had never seen before was the Burnished Brown 69 SS. Spoke to the owner who was a real gentleman, informative and fun to talk to. Great Event.

Maybe it could become the true N.E. Aces event and Maryland would be the Mid-Atlantic ;)
I cant speak for the MCC, but they;ve been doing their show the longest! 22 years and counting!

And it is north east of the Mason-Dixon line. ;)

New England would be fine, instead of NE.

Well I was there Friday afternoon and Saturday morning! And I did meet a few fellow TC'ers.
I was the tall blond guy in a red Harley shirt walking around looking lost cuz my car is at home in a zillion pieces!!
And as far as a one day versus 2 day event, being that Im kinda new to the N. E. Chevelle club, I cant speak to the whys and wherefors of the show logistics, but I too wondered why it couldnt be a Friday nite, Sat, Sun show or perhaps a Sat/ Sun show.
Friday afternoon the parking lot was kinda empty even at the point of the ice cream cruise!
Awsum turnout on Saturday tho and thrilled to be in the company of such fine rides!
(BTW) I think I may have stumbled upon a 70 El Camino in need of a new home but wont know how bad it is till later this week. The guy is a friend of a friend and he has to see if his dad is interested in it first!)

OK, I have never been there on A Friday, but I thought there were more cars there. Maybe if the show was given some sort of recognition by ACES,It would attract more cars.

I agree Dan. Part of the problem with a 2 day show is work/school. A lot of folks have to work on Fri, and some kids are in school. Especially the more southern states. Another problem is Sat/Sun shows. Many have to go to work/school on Monday, and if you have an 8 hour drive, you need Sunday for traveling. The Ohio show originally was Sat and Sun, but they changed it for us out of staters/easterners, so we could have Sunday for the 8 hr drive home. For me, a Fri/Sat show is best. Part of the reason I can't always get to Niagara Falls, is because the awards cermony is on Sunday morning, and we have a 10 hour drive, that should begin at 6AM. You can't please everyone, so I'm not sure what the answer is

Another issue with Chuck ( ACES1) is that he is swamped right at the end of Aug. I am wondering out loud whether the New England Elky club :) might be open to move the date around to accomodate ACES1 busy end of summer schedule.

Anyway, not for Mr. Rose and I to debate, but something to ponder.

Bill, we do awards on Sat now in Niagara, for exactly that reason.

The answer is the Chevelleabration style time line. Thurs/Fri/sat.

FWIW, I say, keep the show just the way it is. I'm sure an ACES affiliation will bring more folks but that venue can't handle many more cars, trailers, vendors, etc.

So, to recap, they'd need to potentially change the structure, the site and the date of the show to get an ACES affiliation. I say NAY! If it ain't broke.... ;)

That said, I still think Chuck ought to visit. He could get some fresh features for the magazine and possibly some new members.

If any of you maganed to stop by the Oldsmobile show that took place a few weeks earlier, you would have seen that that venue can handle a lot more cars. Almost the entire parking lot (where spectators parked this weekend) was filled with show cars and the dirt road between Piccadilly pub and McD's was filled on both sides with vendors hawking everything from used parts to aftermarket parts.
That being said, I think the Chevelle/ El Camino show could indeed go bigger with little problem. JMHO

Yep...plenty of room to grab, in 07 the Hotel had us and a Studebaker event at the same time, all it would take is timing & coordination.

The Oldsmobile show at Sturbridge had 400 cars!
wasn't that an Olds nationals event ??
