At a bit of an impass..... My car was tapped in the left rear, and the flimsy frame is sitting down at least a good 1"-2" from the right side

Thinking I have a couple options:

1. Change rear frame section (Gotta find donor first - But would be extremely fast/easy to do)

2. Brace the bad part and go Baby Huey and just beat it with a BFH (Not a show car - just looking for functionality)

3. Heat up the bad frame rail and bend it into place (No torches)

Anyone have a line on a rear frame section in/close to RI or maybe an interchange recommendation?

Feedback is also welcome : )

I have a simular problem on my lr and when the frame is all bolted up it tweeks the body because its a convertable and looke as though from the rear like the spring is bad on that side.Mine seems as though the bend starts in front of the arch so Im thinking body shop some day.If you happen to get a quote post it because Im qureous.

If that rail is down a good 2" what else is out of whack?
The frame is the foundation of the car, without a straight solid frame your whole project can be off especially if you are replacing sheet metal.

For the probable 200 bucks a shop would charge, worth the money IMO.

Before you start cutting out and replacing with a new rail, the old one must be within spec, otherwise you have built up tension in the metal.

Also be wise to get your hands on a frame chart for that car, do a search, they have been posted before several times...Eric

Should have stuck with Rule #1: "Don't be Lazy" :)
(Rule 1a: "Don't be cheap" but only after being lazy is ruled out - LOL)

Took an inch behind and in front of the damaged section where the frame was straight and just cut it off/out.

I then beat the bad section like it owed me $$$ and and hour later, it went back together like a dream.

Like a friend once told me ".... Don't baby it!!!" ;)

Level, square and quite presentable :)

Ran a straight edge down the side too and it was "Very Nice!!!" (Borat)

I could have taken it to a frame shop, could have gotten another frame.... but sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution!!!

Thanks everyone!!!
