The new 2011 Chevy HD line of trucks.

http://www.chevrolet.com/pages/open/default/future/silveradohd.do?evar3=newsilveradohd_hom

More payload and towing than Ford and Dodge.
Ive beeen a Chevy man my whole life but I gotta swallow my pride and say they have never really been a contender in the heavy/commercial truck market.
Looks like things are about to change for 2011.
I also read somewhere that the race to 400hp 700tq from the big three is getting closer.
Final hp/tq numbers havent been released for the 6.6 duramax or 6.0 gas but they look pretty strong.

it's too bad they haven't built a good looking truck since the '02 HD. everything since then has looked like something a cartoon character would drive.

Wow, I actually like the look of that HD. I love the grill, that's my big problem with the new Silverado now. The grill looks like it's made out of plastic, it just looks terrible. I like the GM though, I think it would look better if they put the front end of the new Suburban on the Silverado, I just think it's a lot cleaner and more aggressive looking.

Ill say one thing about the new HDs. That current factory 5 spoke wheel that the Duallys are coming with right now looks like one of the nicest factory dually wheels I have ever seen.

Funny I don't feel like a cartoon character.
I get a new truck every 2-3 years. I like the look of the new trucks.
I prefer the GMC though. I think the old trucks look... well OLD.
Looking back I still think the older models are OK, but I wouldn't want one.
The only thing I want back is the pre-2007 emissions for my Duramax.

Screw Goverment Motors...I bought a new Ford right after Xmas.
And it's my first full size Ford truck...
F- 150, 250, 350?
I bought a new 2007 F350 power stroke. I didn't like it. kept it barely a year before trading it off. The new F150 looks nice.

Now if they only priced them realistically  Just for laughs, I priced out a 2010 GMC comparable to my '04 2500HD Diesel and the MSRP was $49,900.....for a friggin pickup truck. It would cost 1/4 that to rebuild the old 78 GMC I have and it would do the same job and pull my trailer whenever I needed to.

2010 F150 XLT Super Crew cab, 5.4L, 6 speed auto, 3.55 posi, towing package.
Replaced an '06 Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab, 5.9L diesel
Sounds like a nice truck Bill. Post up a photo of the truck if you have one, Love to see it.

Thanks Todd!
That is a great truck Bill. Have to love the factory wheels that they put on these new trucks.
I may look at one of those F150s when it is time. They sure have been catching my eye lately when I am out and about.

Our company switched from Chevy to Ford for the trucks. The mid 90s Subs were good, but since 2000 they are too wimpy to do anything meaningful. I hope they have addressed this with these new ones because the older ones were pretty good.

It's tough to beat the Fords though. The F350 dually we got last year is friggin awesome and tough as nails. I do have to spend a lot of time with a screwdriver prying all the squashed Toyotas out of the back treads, though.

I couldn't pass up the deal Todd.
I bought this truck the week I was off work between the Xmas and New Years holidays.
Sticker was $36K
At the time, Ford was offering a $4K rebate. On top of that, I'm eligible for the "A" discount plan which gave me another $2700 off.
To sweeten the deal, the dealer gave me a little over $20K for my Dodge Ram (aka Fiat ;)).
Drove the Ford home for $9K out of pocket.
And, I got to write the sales tax off on my '09 Fed income tax.
