MSD Digital 6 vs MSD Digital 7

I like the features of the Digital 6 & 7.

The Digital 6 has 135 mJ of spark energy, the Digital 7 has 190mJ of spark energy.

The extra 55mJ cost over $200 more. When does the 190mJ spark become a necessity?

Yes nitrous, hopefully done correctly with a programmable window switch. Compression not over 11 to 1 if even that.

I will probably out grow this motor one day and didn't want to have to buy another ignition down the road. The ignition is permanent, the motor may not be. Track only use in any case.

The 6 is fine. I ran a 6AL in my car and went 9.15. Swapped over to a 7AL2 and pro power coil, still went 9.teens. Mine is in the high 800hp range.

I have a Digital 6, its been in the car for 3 years and runs fine. I have not used any of the features yet. but still hope to.
