Hi guys I have an edelbrock 750 electric choke carb right now and I cant seem to get that freakin bog out of it. I was told by some local shops here that the carb is to big for my setup.

But I going to a different setup in two weeks and I was wondering if I should keep the carb or get a Holley 6xx?

My setup now is a 87-95 350, 9.1 cr, 23k miles, 280h cam, stock 76cc heads, RPM air gap, headers, B&M 2400 stall, 3.08 gears.

The new setup in about 2 weeks will be: 87-95 350, 9.8-10.1 cr, 280h cam, cnc fully ported/polished, 2.02/1.6, 61cc vortec heads, 1094 gasket, Weiand Air Strike intake with 1" open spacer, headers, B&M 3000 stall, 3.42 gears with LockRite.

I am wondering which carb do you think would suit my setup better, I have a friend that works at autozone so getting either a Holley or Edelbrock will be no problem. I just want to get the right one. Please help me with this.
 
Like the others have suggested a 750 is not a bad size for a nice street 350. Hard to go wrong with holleys, I have used a 750 vacumn sec 3310 carb with good results (ran high 11s with it), had to play with the squirters and accelator pump cam to get it to work well, but it is hard to beat for driveability.

So all of you guys think the 750 would be a good carb. Do you think I just need to get it tuned to the engine because as of now it is still "out of the box" settings. Except I changed the acc pump to the last hole, might put it back to the middle hole.
 
On the engine I just pulled outta my chevelle it was a 350 pushing about 380-390hp. I did a test with the Holley 770cfm street avenger, 670 street avenger and the edelbrock 650 thunder. The 770 gave it more mid range-top end power and a nice kick down when floored, the edelbrock was decent, but I feel that all around the 670 was the best. These were outta the box tests, not tuned in.

Get yourself a tunning kit for the EDDY carb through Summitt or Jegs. When tuned they are very good street carbs.
 
Makes sense to exhaust your tuning ops, carbs are not cheap, you cant recover all the cost even when you sell the old one. You could very well end up having to deal with tuning the new one
 
650, 700, or 750 holley DP in good shape. Jet it stock and tune the accel pumps.
My bro has had all on his 383, and all worked great. He settled on the 750DP.

He also tried to build one with a Holley high flow main body and it never ran right.

A 350 with 9:1c/r, 280*cam, and 3.08 gears wasn't helping your bog problem.

I recommend the old tired and true 3310 Holley 750 with vacuum secondaries. Jegs has them on sale right now for $265. Cant be beat for the bang for buck value. :D

So do you think after the swap it would act a lot better?

350 w/9:8 - 10:1 cr, 280* cam, and 3.42 or 3.73 gears would be more suited?:confused: Along with the new heads?

I was looking at that one but the guy I know at Autozone is practically throwing me a new carb of my choice if its in stock, but I dont want to get the wrong one and be right back where I am now. He wants these 913 heads that I have on the motor now for some STRANGE reason and he would give me what I want out of Autozone for them. All I was going to do was probably put them on our iron or sell em for about $100, I dont know.
