I am using a true-trac and love it. Drives and corners like an open diff.
Works like a spool at the track or anytime you wack the go pedal.
Absolutely quiet, and sure has taken a beating.

Same here. I put a complete Moser rear-end with the tru-trac in my Nomad.
I've heard good things about the TRU-TRAC.... and as previously stated, the only reason I didn't go with one, and that I chose a Detroit Locker instead is that the TRU-TRAC isn't available for 35 spline axles, and that's what I chose for durability reasons in my application. The Detroit Locker is one of the few options for 35 spline axles.

A locker is loud, and is either "in" or "out" (locked or unlocked). The strength of the locker is important on the drag strip, when you're going straight and nothing else. But, they're not much fun on the street and don't offer partial engagement around corners.

The traditional Eaton unit is great for the street, and relies on clutches to offer both partial- and full-engagement, but it will wear out because it uses clutches. This will take awhile, and they will put up with a lot of abuse.

I prefer the Detroit TruTrac, which uses helical-cut gears to offer partial engagement and a full lock, but without the clutches to wear out. I think it's the best of both worlds, and it's plenty strong too. With really heavy or really powerful cars, you might need the added stregth a full locker brings with it. But, for your car, I'd have to suggest you look in to the TruTrac. I think you'd be happiest with it- I know I love mine and I'd choose it again.
X2!

It's called a Torsen......

BTW, although I have a spool, the 32 spline axles have never shown any twisting......and they are 12 years old.

"Powertrax No-Slip Traction System", the one w/ the metal material in it that I can't find spec's on so what gives????

You mean these? I think this would be ok if he doesn't want to do a gear change, since these don't require that you touch the ring & pinion gears at all, and it will convert his one legger into a posi. A posi without any clutches to wear out too. But if he's going to be changing the gear ratio anyway, or he wants to put atleast 600 HP through the rear, the TRU-Trac would be better I believe....

Tom´s differentials list a 33 splines 3 series truetrac http://www.tomsdifferentials.com/catalog.asp?pg=5

When I upgraded to 33 splines axles I was thinking of a Truetrac but since I already had an almost new Eaton posi I just changed the spiders+opened the journals a bit so I could run 33 splines axles.
