The hose, for what I believe to be the higher pressure side coming from the pump, is leaking from where the metal meets the tube. That big 1" diameter crimped part before it becomes metal piping.

I have a PS pump from an 89 GMC truck on my 71 big block car. (car came with a 307 back in the days.) I had to do some bending of the ends in order to hook the existing line up.

So, now that I need a replacement hose, I don't want to buy something new and have to bend it to fit. like every damn other thing I buy for my car ;)

Can I use some other kind of hose, and hose clamp it onto the metal piping before the threaded/flaired portion?

Does someone sell "universal" PS hoses?

-My return line is the clooge described above, and it's doing fine.

Sounds simular to the problem I had, I ended up taking my old hose to the local parts place, and the guy let me take home probably 10 different hoses to see what one fit best. In reality, if mine ever goes bad again,

I have no idea what to ask for a replacement, since I have no idea what type of car/truck its for. If you do find a replacement, make sure you note the make/model it for. As far as using a hose clamp to basically " make your own " that is the high pressure side, it will probably end up leaking.

Go luck with you project !!

I am not sure of the correct year hose that you need, but I do know that you can't make your own hose and use clamps because this is the high pressure side of the pump. You can only use a hose with clamps on the return (low pressure)side of the pump. I hope this helps you some.

Find a good parts store that can make up hoses, normally its not a big deal if you know what you want. Bend up a piece of coat hanger in the shape and length you need and bring in your hose so they can match the fittings up. I know my local NAPA can make up hoses on the spot, just call around and ask. Dont bother trying to make your own high pressure hose unless you really want to make a mess of your engine compartment.
