See the thing about that is his car is gonna be runnin high 11s like it is and he's about to step it up another 100 hp so I dunno if it will hold. How much did you spend on the eaton setup?

i got mine for $350 off ebay like right when they came out, if hes not comfortable with it then find a 12 bolt. but if it was me i would still use the 10bolt. the only thing in the ten bolt ive ever seen break is the axles. im going to use my 7.5 ten bolt in my s10 and will probly go mid 11s

11's with an 8.2?? 500 horse and good torque getting to the ground "hooking up" solid will grenade the 8.2 maybe not the first time or second but more sooner then later, but once again thats just my humble opinion

have you seen one that had axles, diff, gears ever blow up? my buddies nova with a 4.11 geared minispooled with a stock carrier and stock axles made probly over 35 passes with 1.6x '60 times goin low 12s

minispooled with stock carrier??? im confused..anyway my opinion if your gonna go big block and have the means of producing big torque numbers why take a chance, just mentioning the 8.2's werent known for handling much..
i did have a eaton limited and 4:10 gearset in my 71 8.2 with 375-400 350 but never really hooked hard and it survived so who knows..

My buddy has a '72 with a 10 bolt under it and wants to get somnethin that will hold over 500hp. Would it be better to build what he has or get a new rearend? Its a automatic car with a 3000 stall.
what rear did you end up using?
