Approx. 80% of '69 Zs were flat hood cars, early or not. Well, at least originally. 30,000 of the 20,302 built now have one!!!
Intresting. I always thought it was part of the Z/28 option. Learned something new today.

My Z28 as most came with the flat hood. Zl2 (cowl) hood was a big seller at Gm parts dept s . gary
Exactly right. Flat hood was standard. Cowl hood was an option. When I was a kid (early 80's), there was a 69 Z/28 that sat in aguy's front yard for a number of years. This was before the cloning craze. It had a flat hood. It did have the 302 and the four speed. I checked back every so often offering to buy it but the guy wouldn't sell it. Supposedly he was a Viet Nam vet who bought the car when he came home. He was still living with his mother. The car sat for close to 20 years. I moved away and on one of my trips back home to visit the parents I noticed the car was gone.
