I've always heard on this and other publications that Hedmans fit our cars the best. I have the super comps and it is a bear to get good fitment but they work. My next ones will be Hedmens.

X2 on the Hedmans; my cousin has the 2" primaries on his 65 ragtop. Had the 502 in it, now a 468.

I have Doug's on my Elky and they fit very nice. The best part is I can get to every spark plug through the wheel well with a socket an extension (I can also get the plugs from over the fender but it's much easier to take the wheel off and reach through the fender well). I had Hooker Super Comps and no such luck!

Hedmans 68190 (uncoated) or 68196(coated) and 68198's (Elite version) will fit and provide the best steering shaft and plug access but.... usually will have interference with the lower control arm pod (formed bracket that the lower control arm bolts into) that is weld to the bottom side of the frame. Maybe on one side only or both side depending on how the frame stands are placed. Can be fixed by grinding away the corner of the pod or flattening it with a bfh.

68 headers won't necessarily clear the cross member on the 66. The passenger side foremost tube is different for a 64-67 then the later 68 up fit. I put a 502 in a buddy's 66 and used cheap Dynomax headers. I had to cut the interfering tube and reposition it back a few inches, then reweld it - for clearance with the crossmember. You will most likely need to grind away a bit of the bottom of the header flange to clear each of the head bolts on the 502. Knowing this going in, we used the painted version of headers and then after the fit was good, blasted them and repainted with VHT which has held up well for 3 years now.
