So I finally put the hood back on after a frame off. The core support is only piece changed. All the gaps and lines were good before tear down. the hood gaps are larger in the rear than the front on the drivers side and smaller inthe rear and larger in the front on the pass side. The hood is almost rubbing the header panel so I cant shift it.. Its almost like the body is just a little crooked on the frame.. Also it sits up to high in the rear. Any tips or help is appreciated.. Its a 68 chevelle..

Loosen your core support bushings. Move the front fenders one way or the other to get the gap even front to rear between fender and hood. It's the core support that centers the front fenders on the car. After you get the gap even on both sides you may also need to loosen and move the bracket where the fenders attach to the core support if both fenders are too close or too far apart at the front edge. Last thing is you may need to shim the core support under the bushings if the gap between the fender and door is not even top to bottom. This will lift the core support and front fender so they don't sag towards the front.

First off cross measure hood opening for square. Measure from the right rear edge of fender at hood opening to the left front fender and header corner and do the same thing on the oppsite side the measurement should be the same. If not loosen lower radiator support bolts to the frame and shift the front end on the frame to get opening square, if you don't have enough movement on the radaitor support you may need to shift the entire body in the frame so body sits squarely on the frame. Also if body is not square the frame and you are able to the front square, the front may be off center and when you put the bumper on the center peak of the bumper will not line up with the center of the grille and header panel. Take your time and good luck.

Tried loosening the rad support and can't get it good enough. I'm driving to work on Sat so I can lift it in the air and will try loosening the body mounts too. This can get frustrating.....:( thanks for the replies....
