what is your wheel and tire combo (size backspace) thanks
In this picture you can see the wheel base is pushed all the way out.
No inner fenders and no lip to attach them if I wanted to.
The body looks normal but nothing is inside the engine bay.
The rears are rolled and ground
I even pizza sliced and re welded the inner rear body layer to give more clearence.
finglers just bealry squeak inbetween body fender lip and tire front and rear.
But no rubbing.
PHR - FTW!

Front
18x8 Nitto 255/40/18
AFX spindle moves things out
1/8" spacer moves things out
I cant run the Elco as low as I want cause the wheels are up in the fenders with almost no clearnce
back space I need to look up
I wish I ordered +1-1.5 wider twards the fame
no inner fenders is the best!!!

Rear
18x11 Nitto 295/45/18
69' axle in a 67' moves things out 1.5"
rear tires are .5" from the fully shaved & rolled lip
I wish these were .75-1" wider twards the fame.

When I did the tires I based the rim package on this
from the database:
1967 chevelle Budnik Tiller 18x8 5 18x10 6 235/40/18 295/45/18 1" wider 12bolt

Love your elco. Going with similar front suspension setup on my chevelle. I am curious though on where and how you set up your panhard bar. Meaning is it a bolt in setup or is it something you did custom. Also same with the coilovers in the rear. Bolt in setup or custom? Thanks.

The SC&C / SPC / AFX front end is great.
I had other stuff it was junk vs these parts.

I have been running parnhards on C4L rears for over 5 years now.
It is a hot ticket!
The panhard setup on this Elco is a fully custom fabbed deal.
It requires much cutting of the frame and welding to the frame and axle.
SC&C sells a Watts you may want to look into that is fab to fit but pre fabricated.
Once one drives a C4L car with a positive axle location youll never want anything less. IMHexp.

Rear coil overs are from SC&C / Aliston Chassisworks.
That install is fab to fit not for the timid.
It took me quite a while to do it.
esp since i addressed the axle, panhard, rear brakes, 12bolt and parking brake all at the same time
meanwhile battling 40+ years of undercar neglect.
All said and done it was worth the effort and money.
To run LS7 Z06 times on the autocross w/ only 255 / 295 street rubber is golden!

Tad,

I've been reading through this thread and watching the videos - awesome! Nice job on both cars! I'm not sure if I want to get into the fabrication right now, but maybe you could start another thread detailing the panhard install. That would probably be very informative for some of us.

Herb

sounds like a good idea I will post some info on the PHBar as soon as I finish the full video for the autocross event that I'm workning on.

For the record the SC&C watts would be easier install on an elco or wagon for sure.
I have concern about how close the fuel tank is to the rear axle on sedan.
But since I dont have a sedan I dont know for sure.
the price would be about a wash pre fabricated watts vs from scratch PHR.

My 68 panhard wasn't too bad, generic axle weld-on mount to the right side and made my own mount for the left frame rail by cutting two steel plates to "L" the frame side bottom. Position the rod end in the two flats before welding to the frame so your spacing is correct. 2 hours tops, once you have all the materials. Tad nailed it on the rear set-up. Short of going to a dedicated 3-link/Watts locater, the 4CL/PHB works as good as anything out there.

Dennis,

Really good to hear from you.
You and your onrails elco was a huge inspiration in how I put this car together.
Heck you even answered my PMs and pointed me in the right direction as far as 4 years back.

Despite my full 8"x11" TODO list of things to un-ghetto...
The eclo really performs now.

Dennis are you in SoCal?

Nor-cal though I make regular runs to visit Mickey. :D

Wifey really misses my old 67 Elco, might look into building another one.

We live just 10 minutes from Mickey.
And we have annual passes.

Give me a holla' & we will meet you there.

DONE! Annual passes just renewed last month. I have some fairly intense training schedules at work for the next month but I'll be due for a trip after that.

Awesome Elco and killer videos.

Thanks for using our product and showing how well it can really work.

Tyler
Your very welcome.
Thanks for the great parts!!!

I dont have pics of the Raw AFX psindle as is came right out of the box and right on the car.
Seriously I tracked the FexEx guy down on the street and raped him for my AXF box.
The spindles were on the car an hour and a half after I signed for them.

The SC&C, AFX, SPC, Hellwig, Kore3, Alston setup is very streeetable / freindly while being Z06 effective in the pot hole riddled streets of Socal / OC / LA.
This was the first competative event .We put 500+ road dog miles on the car in 4 days.
Came home with a bunch of video... I'm still editing "stay tuned"..., 2 trophies and a couple weeks worth of smile on our faces.
I did rack up a to do list. but that is to be expected 1st time out straight into competition.
the login is tunedbytad for a reason. I love to technical tinker till tuned.
