Whats your opinion on this wreck between dale jr and vickers?
What race were you watching? Waltrip said several times immedietely after the wreck that that move was completely uncalled for by Jr. I think everyone of them made a bad comment about him after that incident. Please
Come on Dale was Pissed that he was given the 1 Lap Penalty
Funny part was that not one of those commetators called him on It.
hardly
Guess I was watching a different channel ,seemed they all called it from what I saw/heard.Funny part was that not one of those commetators called him on It.
In other words."just racin'"Larry Mc. and D.W. called him on it right away. After looking at it you can see Vickers hits Jr. on the way down the track and Jr. hits him on the way up. Nobody will ever really know if he did it on purpose or if it was because Vickers might have slowed up a tad because he tapped Jr. and was getting sideways himself. I'll give Jr. the benefit of the doubt and say its just racing at Daytona. They were all worried about rain shortening the race and wanted to make up as much ground as possible IMHO.

Thats my feeling too. JR has in the past admitted and apologized when he was at fault, but this looked like a little aggressive racing by both. I am not a Kyle Bush fan but it was a shame he didn't get to finish after the day he was having.Larry Mc. and D.W. called him on it right away. Yep, and thats how I voted. In other words."just racin'"![]()
Did you not note that by the end the annoucers were backpeddling on theur "rash" comments on who was at fault fault?:yes:It was Jr's fault. And the announcers did call him on it in the beginning. But were quick to make excuses for him later.
Maybe they got a call from the NASCAR telling them to stop talking negative about him and reminding them that he is the golden boy who can do no wrong.
After this race I am totally done with NASCAR. The entire series is a joke and only getting worse.
NASCAR has been talking that but the Big Three were demanding that they be used for the Sprint Cup Series! They said they wanted cars the public could recognize and would go out on Monday and buy!:thumbsup:Little off topic, but did anybody hear a whisper of the Nationwide series running "real" 2 doors next year?? (Camaro, Mustang, Challenger) BTW, just racin'
When you saw it from Jr's in car camera, he lifted twice and lifting on a restrictor plate race can send you to the back of the pack in a real hurry so, in my opinion, he tried to avoid contact. Had Vickers not tried to block him, it never would've happened. Jr had a heck of a run on him. Try to make that decision at almost 200 mph in a split second.
Vickers should never have tried to block him in the first place, they were lapped cars with a whole lot of laps left. Jr had the run let him go. But I believe that Daytona rules about being below the line had as much to do with it as anything, If Jr had stayed down there they would have penalized him for that, so what is a guy to do?
You guys all hit on it -- blocking is the problem. NASCAR needs to do something about it since the drivers feel compelled to continue doing it, often with the results we saw on Sunday. I voted "Just Racing", but I place blame on both drivers. Vickers came down on Earnhardt, but Earnhardt didn't need to come up like he did either.Every guy that gets in front blocks at the plate races. I say they deserve it if they get turned. They all do it. Not defending Jr, though, he either was mad and gave Vickers a touch or he mis-judged, which might be want happened, he misjudged everything all week long at Daytona. Either way it was his fault. While he isn't a top 10 driver, I still think he is a good guy and what he has been thru says a lot about the young man.
During the telecast they kind of said it was his fault, but quickly they were all silent. I thought they were pussy footin' around about it. Not like it was Robby Gordon or one of the other back markers that they would have heaped the blame on
It ws another typical sucky Nascar race. They are picking up right where they left off last year..
:hurray: More than one:thumbsup:At least he knocked out a Toyota from the race.![]()
