How low you wanna go, sprout? Replacement springs would be the easiest way, maybe $150 for all 4.
 
i put an eibach pro-kit on the nomad, and i the front sat right about where i wanted it. since wagons sit lower in the rear i wetn back to stock springs in the rear, nice raked look. but the overall performance and quality (yay for powdercoating) of the eibachs i recieved were pretty good. Next time however i will be looking into globalwest products as they make a great deal other things that interest me, all of the highest quality. and DO make sure to @ least get shocks for the lowered application, if not fully adjustable ones.

Dont you want to run big wheels? I would get the wheels under the car before deciding on amount of drop. Then you know how far you can go and wont limit your wheel/tire combo based on where the car is after being lowered.

But you have a bunch of options. Bags, cut your stock springs, buy lowering springs (eibach, hotchkis,etc), yank some b-body spindles from the yard and buy some moog springs and then cut those, etc. Your approach would dicate the cost...so how tricky you wanna get?

But if you dont have your wheels yet I would get those first and then lower depending on how much room you have with the wheels that you want to run.
 
You'll only be able to get some replacement springs that you'll have to cut on the fronts, rears can't be cut and it's hard to find a stock replacement that'd fit your goal for out back. Talk to Fred Aldrich, he'd be able to recommend a stock spring that'd give you the ride quality/height you'd want, it might not be exact but if you want cheap, moog replacements would be the best.

Another thing you're going to have to think about is shock rebound, if you were using stock shocks, first time you go over a bump your shocks will blow out. I think OPG has some lowering shocks.
 
If you want to go 3" drop- I think you may want to start looking at an all air bag suspension, take out the springs all together.

Then you can change your height whenever you want, lay it on the ground at shows, then pump it up where you want for cruising.

I think I might stay with the 15x7 rallys or use my brother's Z28 mags and still lower it. I don't want to spend alot of money on suspension parts, so I will probably get springs and cut those(if I have the money).
 
Tom,just buy a set of 2" drop springs from Coil Spring Specialties. With a 2" drop,you won't need special shocks and just about any wheel & tire combo will fit the car that would've fit otherwise. A two inch drop doesn't sound like much but it's quite a bit,trust me.
Been there,done that.
 
Zac, I thought you were going to run 26" dubs all around?

The low dollar approach would be to cut the existing coils. But with them most likely being sagged after all these years, you end up with horrible ride quality - I would think. Might work you. Throw on a gold chain and turn your hat sideways. You're stylin' man ;)
