What is the difference between the 325 horse 396 and the 350 horse 396 that was installed in the 69 Chevelle?

There were a few, the cam is different and depending on the year the 325 HP used cast crank and pistons.

Some pretty lame answers for a premier site fellas.
The 325 and 350 horse engines shared the same pistons and rods, I believe the crank was not forged. The carbs probably had different calibration, Q-Jets. Different fittings like the air cleaner.
All this is secondary to the fact that the 396/350 horse had a "larger" "High lift" cam, less than .500" lift
The 325 horse cam was very small, almost small block spec.Look online for blueprint cams for the specs....pathetic by today's standards

Remember, these were high compression engines rated at 10.25:1 CR. Big CR and small cam makes nice low rpm torque IF you have high octane gas to run on.
However, even the 350 horse cam was all done making power before 4300 rpm.

Brandon here is a post that was started a while back all about the differences between the 350 and 325 HP engines, took me a while to find it.
