Well...after all these months my wife has talked to her father.
Turns out, he still lives in Louisville and right down the dang road from one of her aunt's. Go figure!!
I was searching for RAY DANIELS and Ray is his middle name.
My MIL went to the last known place she knew about. She went to the "old house" and his uncle was living there. He told her that he didn't want to get involved but told her to "look in the phone book under OLEN DANIELS in IN". Well, she drove over the river to IN and picked up a phone book, looked for him and found nothing. So, she went back to the uncle's place and told him she found nothing. So, he told her to check out the neighborhood off Preston Hwy near the Wal-Mart. There she went, driving around and seen him walking in the driveway...I know the luck right?
She talked to him for a few minutes and asked him for his phone number. He gave it to her, she didn't tell him about my wife at that moment. My MIL calls Maddlie (my wife) and gives her the number. So, she called him Monday and no answer, Tuesday and no answer. She finally gets an answer yesterday. Turns out, he's been staying at the hospital with his wife who is ill. They talked for a few moments and my wife tells him who she is. He said he didn't know he had a daughter and that he would like to see her. He has no other kids and that he wants to see our children too.
My wife is very excited and scared at the same time. She wants to go home during Spring Break and take the kids to see him. He's not sure how much longer his wife is going to be alive and he wants them all to meet.
Shew...glad that's over.
