Thanks guys! It was incredibly fun.

you're gonna make me go out and buy my tires early!
Buy extras if you intend to do this. :D They wear quickly. ;)

Hey Derek,
Are you still running the 235/245-45 series profiles tires on this thing? Looks amazing!
235/45 front and 255/45 rear. I definitely need more tire on it.

There is no such thing as too much tire or too much power.

I personally have to maintain tire temps at smaller events that are pumping the cars thru.
If I pump out 3 back to back runs the rear tires turn into melty chocolate slicks.
My big heavy b-body has lots of power and weight so it puts temp in the tires really fast.

So I dont pull right back in line. I pull to the back of stagging lanes and wave the lighter cars thru.
Gives me time to check the car over between runs and let the tires & brakes cool back down.
Sometimes my hands shake after really fast an quick runs and I need some time to get my body back under control as well.

If I put BFG street radial on the car I can cook them to the hide in 1 or 2 runs.
The Nitto 555 street tires and even 555 drag radials hold up way better.
Puts some 275 Kumho V710s track shoes on and they will last alot longer.
If you can make the tire really hook and bite hard & square in the corners the lack of scrubbing will make the tire last alot longer.

At 1.5 camber with a healthy camber gain with the tall factory B-body spindle the 710s wear 100% even and square across the tire.
I have 3 days of events on my v710s and they look bearly broken in.
Thanks Marcus!

I added a couple more pics. :) These are the only 4 I have so far, and I don't have the original high-res photos yet, but I'm told he got about 20 good pics.

Tad, I don't intend to get that "serious" about it... I'm just running a good aggressive street tire (Kumho Ecsta MX). I ran too much -camber (-2*) so I wore the insides a little more than the outsides... next time I'll try -1.5, as I think that will be perfect. I'm just out to have a good time, and might try to do it about 2 or 3 times a year if/when the events occur on a weekend I have free.

All in all, it was more fun than anything I've ever done as far as car-related events go.

Hey Derek-

Cool shots Amigo! Looks like a great time and I'm glad it went well for ya.

I'm anxious for next year...I really want to sit down with ya and plan to attend a few local events like this together. Our setups are so similar, we can share info and help each other get faster.

that first pic is awesome
Yeah, that's my favorite too.

Where's your front air dam ?
I haven't built it yet... I can't make up my mind on a design. Maybe this winter I will build one. :)

Definitely  Winona is kind of a long-haul for you, but there are other events run at Midway Stadium in St. Paul, and probably a few others. I just joined up on www.mnautox.com to keep an eye on the events around the state. Also, next year I'll be running 3.50 gears, so Brainerd might be a possibility too.

Does that blue car only turn right? ;)

Looks great, but it looks like you are down on the front suspension stops on most of those hard corners though, time for some stiffer front springs? ;) (Or maybe a little more front sway bar?)

Who is in the passenger seat in the last photo?
