Wondering if this is a regional situation or not. We have no premium gas at our gas stations in central South Carolina. No midgrade either.
I was at a cruise-in Saturday and several guys mentioned not having enough gas to come back next time.
We are having our annual car club show this Saturday and I will be interested to see if the turn out is effected by the gas shortage.
It's 2008, shouldn't we be progressing not regressing ?

No mid grade or premium in Central NC either. Small stations are out. Exxon stations seem to be the stations that mainly have gas, regular only.

My Velles run fine on 87 but high horsepower cars may not come to the shows.

We'll be at the NC Chevelle show.
My '70 requires premium. Bought 6 gal of Sunoco 110 leaded to mix with the regular gas that is sometimes available here locally.
At least I won't have to push it on to the show field. ;)

NC's Govenor Easley (Sleasley) says that fuel at the port and in the pipe lines is available just that the trucks can't get it to the stations fast enough. I think many people are on Empty and when they see a station with gas they come a running.

I didn't have any problem getting gas over the weekend. I filled the vrod up with premium Monday morning at a Hess station on Elmwood and they had all grades available.

I think it's still a spotty shortage, some areas seem worse than others.

QUik Trip here is Atlanta claims that by Wednesday all of their stations will have gas. I will wait to see that myself. Although I have not waited over 15 minutes for gas at anytime, I just got up Sunday morning and went to fill up the wifes car speculation based on what I had seen that Kroger would have gas on that day, and they did. I was up and out the door at 8 am figuring the lines would be shorter and I was right.

No premium anywhere around the Charlotte area either... and you're still pretty lucky to find any gas. We were supposed to be getting a "huge supply" last Friday but we're still waiting to see that. Most auto parts stores around here are sold out of octane booster too.

Fortunately my Chevelle is full and mine runs OK on regular. I will be at the show this weekend!

Hmmmm, not only do we have more then enough of every grade gas in NY, but the price just went down 6 cents a gallon across the board. I don't understand how one part of the country can be so short, were as others have more then enough.

Supposedly it's because the Southeast is far more dependent on Gulf oil/refineries and some pipeline which was shut down during the hurricanes. And yes, of course there's gouging here. The few stations that have gas in Charlotte are charging $4.19/gallon!

Nashville has no premium or mid grade and some stations havent had any gas for a couple weeks. A guy that I go to school with works at a gas station and said that they have plenty of gas in their tanks, but they were told not to pump it.

one oz of acetone per 10 gallons will bump your octane level up sufficiently. $15 a gallon at Home Depot or Lowe's. Tested it in my Harley running mid grade with pinging. added half oz to the 5 gallons and no pinging. there are many articles on the net touting this additive.

I'm in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, and we can't get gas of any grade without a 1-hr+ wait. I passed a station on my way to lunch 2 hours ago that was dry. Apparently they got a fuel delivery while I was eating, and when I passed back by on my way to the office, the line down the highway was 35-40 cars long.
