Looks like that is what I need. But it turns out the files I have downloaded are protected and wont let me convert them. Anyone ever try to get past this protection?

sadly, the easiest way is to just illegally download the mp3 versions of the songs.

If music companies made it easier to convert their cd's to mp3 format songs, we wouldn't have to result to this. But it is the easiest way

I downloaded these songs legit. Wish I would have known then they wouldnt have been able to be converted to MP3. I got them free anyways (coupon).

Are there even any more music sites out there that dont charge you for downloading songs? I guess if they want to play that game, I can play too. Im not about to pay for these songs (only 5 or 6 songs) just because they are the wrong format.

You can burn them to a regular audio cd using nero, then rip them to an mp3 via windows media player.
