Only at start up, but not on all starts i'll get a pretty good burnt oil smell out the exhaust. After it runs for a couple seconds the smell goes away, opinions please !!!!

how old's the rebuild ?
Were valve seals replaced/installed ?
End of last summer, the heads were in the shop, i would imagine they replaced seals. It also blows white smoke sometimes on start up when i get the oil smell !!

Are you sure you don't have a oil leak that is dripping on the exhaust system, and then burrnig off when started?
I've only noticed it standing at the back, coming out the exhaust !!

Likely guides/Seals.

White smoke in the exhaust is likly water condensation in the mufflers. If thee car is not driven every day it should be considered normal. As for oil, I don't think any of us can tell you if its externl oil leaking onto exhaust, internal, engine consuming/burning oil or just fingerprints burning off pipes from a newly assembled piece.
