I have my TKO 600 in the shop for warrenty work. When I called, the shop guy told my all my sychronizers were bad. What would cause all of them to fail?

The car is a full weight 69, trans has about 3000 miles on it and about 40 1/4 mile passes. I followed the installation instructions and ran it with GM Sycromesh tranny fluid. There were no vibrations in the driveline. My 396 isn't pushing that much power, the bellhousing was a repop 621 and like new, and the clutch was a new Centerforce II. I'm by no means bashing Tremec or anyone else, I just want to be sure I'm not doing anything wrong that would cause a failure again.

how clean are the shifts when you do them,
miss any gear shifts on the street or racing?
is it in the shop for this reason or ?
if in for other reasons, then it is good to freshen the syncros up for continued smooth shifting :)

HMMM,all syncros worn out in only 3k miles and not just on 1 or 2 gears, thats really not good at all.

Possibly poor clutch adj not fully disengauging the clutch when shifting putting more stress on the syncro's or maybe your the type person that rests your hand on the shifter holding too much pressure on it while shifting ,esp in high gear but more likely an issue.

Or maybe something is wrong with the trans/case that always exserts pressure on the shifter/shifting mechanism wearing out the syncros for all gears.

But something is definately not right when all syncros for all gears are worn out in 3k miles, thats for sure .

Is the first gear syncro bad as well???? That is the one gear that should never go bad, it's no subject to any real abuse. If it's bad I would say there is a problem with the sycros.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll ask some specific questions, specifically about the 1st gear sychronizer next week when I talk to the shop guy. I just don't want to have to pull the trans again.
