Correct me if I am wrong, but under the hood and the firewall were painted black on a '70 SS, regardless of body color?

Would it be crazy to paint under the hood and the firewall to match the body color? Just seeing if anyone had ever done this and if it "hurts" the value of the car. I know... subjective question. Thanks.

It should be 30% gloss black. Body color would be hard to keep clean in that area IMO.

Thanks Tom. Is 30% gloss black for both the firewall and under the hood?

Dont really know if it hurts the value to paint the firewall the same as the body, I did mine that way and love it. Build your car your way and enjoy.

i have both of my rigs black, the way it was. seen some that painted to match and just doesnt look right. might look great but you have to wonder the who, what and why? i am more of restoration guy than a customization dude. but thats just me.
